June 8 is shaping up to be our tastiest Monday evening yet!
PAPILA is taking over our Amzei store for a special seasonal dinner while the shop remains open.
After days of conversations, notes, testing and refining, we’ve come together to create a proper three-course dinner, served around one long communal table.

Expect a vegetarian, easygoing menu featuring some of the famous organic greens from Grădina Corbilor, homemade noodles and a nostalgic childhood dessert, all accompanied by a lovely selection of wines. A menu designed to celebrate good food, good company, and the spirit of Bucharest Food Culture, part of Bucharest Design Festival.

Limited seats available.
Reserve your place via the booking form in our bio.

We can’t wait to share this evening with you. It’s going to be a special one.

Next weekend, June 6–7, we celebrate clean, good and tasty FOOD at Bucharest Food Culture.

We begin on Saturday with a Talk & Taste dedicated to REAL salads together with Grădina Corbilor — a conversation about honest ingredients, seasonality and the beauty of simple food done right.

On Sunday, the table gets bigger with a community brunch & talk:
ONE PLATE, ONE STORY — bringing together 16 restaurants sharing not only their dishes, but also the stories, people and memories behind them.

Fully embracing the Japanese concept of “mitate” - to cherish the unexpected connections, to see, to give new life to everyday objects, to appreciate what surrounds us 💙 Grateful to Yulia for bringing this philosophy closer to us, together with the lessons on how to be more calm and present through her beautiful sharing of the way of tea 🍵 More info about Yulia’s workshops in bio.

Drop by to admire the beautiful and vast ceramics selection made by local Romanian crafters and artists, inspired by the Japanese tea and matcha ceremony. It’s what we did all day yesterday :)

This is about food. Food as indulgence. Food as art. Food as ritual. Food as community. Food as taste. It’s about people, stories, neighborhoods and the joy of gathering around the same table.

It all started with a a shared passion for fermentation and the power of food with Alex Petricean. We then started to imagine together … what if more people would experience food as this? What if people would have the chance to hear the stories of each ingredient… what if a people from Bucharest food community with shared values come together? How can we learn, grow and have fun together?

So we brought food enthusiasts together and started building something around one belief:
WHO FOOD TOGETHER
GROWS TOGETHER.

Inspired by gatherings centered around food, culture and community, Bucharest Food Culture brings together a core circle of passionate, resilient dreamers to imagine and celebrate the future of the city through art, workshops, talks, tastings and shared meals across Bucharest.

APPLIED ART IN EVERYDAY
design market
May 27 – June 21
OTOTO Amzei

From illustrations, ceramics, tableware and coffee accessories to food and drinks design packaging - this is how art became part of our everyday life.

As part of our “The Design of Everyday” contribution to BDF GO!, OTOTO Amzei becomes a showcase of beautiful artworks and design we all have access to through everyday products. Art on fish conserve or an olive oil ceramic bottle, illustrations on the tins of coffee, food and drinks.

The products become a “blank canvas” on which artists can express themselves creatively, while also becoming a support for communicating cultural and social initiatives.

Discover at OTOTO Amzei tables filled with stories of the collaborations between beautiful independent brands and artists from the local community in transforming everyday products in little pieces of art ready to collect. 🫶🏻🫶🏻

On International Tea Day, we invite you into a moment of stillness through a series of workshops gently introducing Sadō - the Way of Tea - together with our special guest and tea ceremony practitioner from Japan, Yulia Iwasaki-Deak. 🤍🍵

You’ll experience the quiet energy and hands-on practice of the tea and matcha ceremony, learning how moments of mindful presence can bring more calm, connection, and kindness into everyday life. Guided by Yulia, you’ll learn how to prepare matcha as a host and receive it as a guest, while exploring the philosophy behind tea rituals through authentic tea whisks from Nara, Japan.

A TASTE OF JAPANESE TEA CULTURE WITH YULIA IWASAKI-DEAK

After the workshop, maybe you’ll leave with more than the matcha skills - maybe with a new way of making space for yourself, too.

One of the core philosophies of the Way of Tea is to “use what is available in one’s surroundings.” In this spirit, Yulia wished to bring local Romanian ceramics and utensils into the tea setting, allowing Japanese tea culture and Romanian craftsmanship to meet naturally in the same bowl - an expression of “mitate” - the art of finding beauty in unexpected connections.

Alongside the workshops, we will host Ceramics Pop-up featuring a curated selection of objects by local artists inspired by tea and matcha culture in Japan. 🫖
