Yahoo It is absolutely outrageous how broken your account recovery system is.

I know my password. This is not a hacking attempt. This is not unauthorized access. I am the legitimate owner of the account. Yet I am locked out because your automated system insists on sending a verification code to a recovery email address I no longer have access to — and there is no real alternative.

No additional identity verification.
No practical solution.
No human support.

Just an automated loop that sends users in circles.

This is not “advanced security.” It is a rigid, poorly designed system that punishes legitimate users.

The consequences are not minor. An email address is connected to banking platforms, professional accounts, contracts, subscriptions, invoices, and critical services. Locking someone out forces users to update their email across dozens of platforms, risking loss of access, wasted time, and unnecessary disruption — all because Yahoo provides no flexible recovery process.

A system that cannot distinguish between a legitimate account owner who knows their password and an attacker is not “more secure.” It is badly engineered.

And an automated wall of scripted responses is not customer support. It is the absence of customer support.

This is exactly why people have stopped using Yahoo.
