A full house for the first German Tech Talk Qatar! 🇩🇪🇶🇦🤖

Yesterday, the German Embassy and Siemens Qatar - with the support of the German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) - hosted the inaugural German Tech Talk under the theme “Industrial AI: Rethinking AI for the Real World.”

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Oliver Owcza highlighted the importance of the German-Qatari partnership in technological leadership and our shared potential to drive innovation and shape the technologies of tomorrow. 🇩🇪🤝🇶🇦

Together with Siemens Qatar CEO Hakan Özdemir, MoCI Undersecretary Saleh Majid Al Khulaifi and the business & academic community, he listened to a keynote and a panel discussion about how industrial AI is transforming industries and opening new opportunities for Qatar’s technological future.

استضافت السفارة الألمانية في الدوحة، بالتعاون مع Siemens Qatar وبدعم من غرفة التجارة الألمانية (AHK)، أمس أولى فعاليات German Tech Talk تحت عنوان «الذكاء الاصطناعي الصناعي: إعادة التفكير في الذكاء الاصطناعي للعالم الحقيقي».

وفي كلمته الافتتاحية، أكد السفير أوليفر اوفتشا على أهمية الشراكة الألمانية-القطرية في مجال الريادة التكنولوجية، وما يجمع البلدين من إمكانات لدفع الابتكار وتطوير تقنيات المستقبل. 🇩🇪🤝🇶🇦

واستمع السفير، إلى جانب الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة Siemens Qatar هاكان أوزدمير، ووكيل وزارة التجارة والصناعة السيد صالح ماجد الخليفي، وممثلين عن قطاعي الأعمال والأوساط الأكاديمية، إلى كلمة رئيسية ونقاش حواري حول دور الذكاء الاصطناعي الصناعي في إحداث تحولات في مختلف القطاعات وفتح آفاق جديدة للمستقبل التكنولوجي في قطر.

Art meets architecture in the heart of Doha! ✨🎨
We are thrilled to share details about the upcoming Doha Pavilion: Gerhard Richter, opening this November at MIA Park! 🌿🏛️ 
Conceived by world-renowned German artist Gerhard Richter and realized together with Selldorf Architects, this extraordinary hexagonal pavilion is a freestanding work of art inspired by his famous ‚Strip Paintings‘. 
Initiated by H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of , the permanent installation brings together Richter’s iconic paintings, sculptures, and mirrors, highlighting the enduring cultural dialogue between Germany and Qatar. 
As Richter himself shared: “Doha is the right place and the only place for my Pavilion.” 📍
🗓️ Opening: November 20, 2026 (as part of Rubaiya Qatar Quadrennial)

الفن يلتقي بالعمارة في قلب الدوحة! ✨🎨

يسرّنا أن نشارككم تفاصيل جناح الدوحة: غيرهارد ريختر، الذي سيفتتح في نوفمبر المقبل في حديقة متحف الفن الإسلامي! 🌿🏛️

صمّم الفنان الألماني العالمي غيرهارد ريختر هذا الجناح الاستثنائي، بالتعاون مع Selldorf Architects، وهو عمل فني سداسي الشكل قائم بذاته، مستوحى من سلسلته الشهيرة «لوحات الشرائط» (Strip Paintings).

وقد جاءت فكرة المشروع بمبادرة من سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد آل ثاني، رئيسة . ويجمع هذا العمل الفني الدائم بين لوحات ريختر وأعماله النحتية ومراياه، مسلطًا الضوء على الحوار الثقافي المستمر بين ألمانيا وقطر.

وكما قال ريختر: «الدوحة هي المكان المناسب، والمكان الوحيد لجناحي.» 📍

The German Embassy in Doha, together with Siemens Qatar and with the support of the German Industry and Commerce Office (AHK Representative), is launching the German Tech Talks in Qatar: a new platform bringing together leaders from government, business, academia and technology.

The inaugural session will focus on Industrial AI and the opportunities it creates for Qatar’s continued economic and technological progress.

🇩🇪🎨🇶🇦 Qatar meets Berlin’s art scene!

Berlin Art Week 2026 brought together artists, galleries, museums and creative voices from around the world, including a strong Qatari presence.

Qatar’s al markhiya gallery / جاليري المرخية presented works by Qatari artist Bouthayna Al Muftah ّ ّ بُثَيْنَه as part of the exhibition “Handmade by—Part II” at Marcus Deschler. Her series “Brushing Her Hair” explores themes of memory, heritage and human connection, drawing on the tradition of women braiding and caring for one another’s hair.

The participation of Qatari contemporary art in one of Germany’s major art events highlights the growing cultural exchange between 🇶🇦 & 🇩🇪.

📍 The exhibition “Handmade by—Part II” can still be visited at Galerie Deschler in Berlin until 24 October 2026.

جمع أسبوع برلين للفن 2026 فنانين وصالات عرض ومتاحف وأصواتاً إبداعية من مختلف أنحاء العالم، من بينها حضور قطري لافت.

وقدّمت صالة المرخية للفنون al markhiya gallery / جاليري المرخية أعمال الفنانة القطرية بثينة المفتاح ّ ّ بُثَيْنَه ضمن معرض «Handmade by—Part II» في Marcus Deschler. وتستكشف سلسلتها «Brushing Her Hair» موضوعات الذاكرة والتراث والتواصل الإنساني، مستلهمةً تقليد تجديل الشعر والعناية به بين النساء.

ويعكس حضور الفن القطري المعاصر في أحد أبرز الفعاليات الفنية في ألمانيا تنامي التبادل الثقافي بين 🇶🇦 و🇩🇪، ودور الفن في بناء جسور التواصل بين المجتمعات والثقافات.
