In his latest book, A World Full of Demons, astronomer and popularizer of science Carl Sagan said that even if aliens are short, harsh and sexually obsessed creatures, he wants to know about them. Humanity has been trying for a long time to find signs of the existence of life outside the Earth and uses a variety of ways to do this. For example, in 1977, NASA sent two Voyager spacecraft with gold-plated disks outside the Solar System, in which the most important scientific discoveries, DNA molecules, music and other information are recorded. It is expected that this disk will be found by alien civilizations and will be able to contact us. Recently, scientists decided to send an updated message to space for aliens — it is called a "Beacon in the Galaxy" and contains genetic data of people with a return address for communication. Some scientists fear terrible consequences in advance.
Using a model that predicts many properties of the Universe with amazing success, known as the Lambda model of Cold Dark Matter, cosmologists can mathematically calculate the development of the young Universe and predict what today's Hubble constant should be. According to this method, the universe should expand at a speed of about 67.36 kilometers per second per megaparsec.
We will find out the answer very soon – the results of the 2023 mission will definitely shed light on the mysteries of the Venusian clouds, and another mission is planned for 2026. This time, scientists will send a larger probe to the second planet from the Sun, which will be able to stay in the clouds of Venus for long periods of time, which means it will be able to collect more data. The culmination of the whole project will be the return of a sample of the atmosphere of Venus to Earth.
Neuralink is the youngest project of Elon Musk, whose goal is to chip people. This is not an exaggeration, because the company's specialists really want to implant chips in people's brains that can cure paralysis and many other brain-related diseases.
In general, in string theory, the geometry of our universe appears to be a four-dimensional space-time only because the extra dimensions are tightly compressed and hidden. That is why bubbles from nothing will not form in a four-dimensional space-time, but will form in a “viscous” multidimensional space-time.
Kosmos-60 was still able to bring some scientific data – the gamma-ray spectrometer showed an interesting distribution of energy in the gamma-ray spectrum in Earth orbit.
On April 10, another E6, number 8, went into space. "Number eight is not welcome to the Moon" - so, according to Boris Chertok's memoirs, the officers of the launch team joked darkly. And so it turned out: the third stage failed, the station did not even enter orbit.
The first flights into space were not part of the exploration of the universe, but an element of the arms race. In the Cold War, all means were good. Whether humanity as a whole thought about the ethics of space exploration, whether such conversations were held at the level of officials, or whether they were raised only in the scientific community — it remains to be guessed. It is known that on December 19, 1966, the UN General Assembly adopted the "Treaty on the Principles of the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies", or, as it is more commonly called, the "Outer Space Treaty".
Swarm is another company that has successfully launched its constellation of nano—satellites (about 100) into orbit and provides its customers with the ability to connect to the Internet of Things - a fully automated data transmission network that minimizes the participation of a human operator in its technological processes. Swarm nano-satellites are unique in their miniature dimensions (11x11x2.8 cm), and their mass is only 400 grams.
The extremely low mass of most nanosatellites allows them to function only in low Earth orbit (LEO), as a result of which the financial costs of putting them into orbit are significantly reduced. The low weight of the devices also significantly increases the permissible number of satellites that can be put into orbit in one launch.
Rwanda is far from the first to come to mind when we think of space powers. But this African state persists in space exploration. Currently, Rwanda has launched only one satellite — back in 2019. However, the recent filing of an application to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) caused confusion and seriously angered well-known satellite operators: we are talking about 327,230 orbiters in two "constellations". At the time of filing the application, the Rwandan authorities did not indicate their motives — except for "turning the country into the center of the African space industry" — and simply stunned even the African Union and the space agencies of South Africa with this step.
