CREATING A UK GARAGE REMIX LIVE USING KYLA “Do You Mind”

I love creating brand new remixes on the turntables live in the mix - simply take a track you are feeling, and mix in an acapella you love!

For this one I used a new UKG track - DJ Para “London Town.”

It came out nice and bumpy I think, but the possibilities really are endless!

Was you feeling it?

CLAP IN TIME CHALLENGE!

Have you ever wondered if you would make a good DJ?

I’ve got a simple test for you to try and find out if you’ve got what it takes!

It’s a simple challenge I always use at the very beginning when teaching people to mix.

The challenge is simply “can you clap in time with the music?”

If you can clap in time… you can be a DJ!

This is a video for anyone who’s ever thought about learning to DJ, or perhaps you’re a curious music lover who has never even thought about it before!

Give the a go, and let me know how easy you found it.

I’d also love to know who your favourite DJ is?

FUN LIVE ACAPELLA REMIX! Something I’ve loved to do for decades is creating live remixes using acapellas and my favourite tracks. Used to do this on all my shows on my pirate radio days (Big up Indulgence crew, Force FM, Magic 90.2 and the massive) and live which was always a buzz.

This is one I’ve done many times DJ Zinc “138 Trek” (vinyl crew note the promo I picked up in Music Power, Ilford at the time it came out, I’ve played it so many times it is literally scratched to f*ck now) into Destiny's Child “Say my Name” who I once saw live in London at Wembley Arena!

It’s a super fun, easy thing to do.

Which two tracks would you mix up Acapella style?

BIG JUNGLE MIX!

Ranski “Dream of Horns” a big white label I’ve had in the collection for years, mixed into Aphrodite “Warm and Easy”

Love these kind of vintage deep bass jungle breaks in the mix, lots of interesting elements to mix and throw the fader.

What’s your two favourite jungle tracks to mix? Let me know in the comments below.
