My small "challenge" completed during the Slav and Viking festival in Wolin - entirely handsewn woolen dress, with historically accurate sewing tools. What was so challenging you ask? The dress was completed in less than a day - in the evening we picked the fabrics, took the measurements, in the afternoon the very next day it was ready to wear. Smile on the face of the new dress owner - Siemka Tattoo - priceless!

All my stuff smells like a campfire, and it kinda feels weird to be back home.
Last week I traveled back in time to the age of the Vikings. For a WHOLE WEEK I could live in a reconstruction of an early medieval settlement during the Slav and Viking Festival at Centrum Słowian i Wikingów Wolin-Jomsborg-Vineta. I met there so many insanely skilled people making beautiful crafts, the way people did ages ago, but I also managed to capture my favourite moments of the event on the photographs. Special thanks to Drużyna Najemna Rujewit for hospitality, and to all the new friends and awesome people I got to chat with throughout the week - you all made it unforgettable!
Best of all, I finally got to experience the whole time warp alongside my favourite person!

The Ekko mask from Arcane is looking for a new home! It was a while ago when I started this project, and I'm glad I've managed to finish it despite the thick layer of dust that it collected over time.
The base was 3D printed in parts, which I glued and welded together with a soldering iron. Then came a lot of priming and sanding. It takes ages, yes, but seeing the finished prop makes every minute of the struggle worth it.
For my fellow makers who struggle with getting 3D prints completely smooth without losing the details, here is a quick trick I always borrow from automotive body shops: use different colored automotive filler-primers.
If you spray a dark base coat, then a lighter filler primer, and finish with another dark coat, sanding becomes so much easier. The moment that lighter middle layer starts showing through, you know exactly when to stop sanding before you ruin the sharp edges. It completely takes the guesswork out of the process and leaves you with a flawless surface for the final paint layers. I hope this tip saves you some time on your next build!
If you’re interested in adding this finished piece to your collection (imagine how good it would look next to the Arcane Jinx statue 🕹), feel free to send me a DM for details. It is also wearable!

Last week I had the great pleasure of participating in Krigslive XXI—it was a very last-minute decision, but oh boy, it was absolutely the right decision to make. If you like Warhammer and battle larps, you literally HAVE to go there at least once. You're missing out on a lot if you don't 😏
With little to no time to prepare, I dug up some LARP clothes, made new breeches (thank you, Alice-from-years-ago, for not throwing away your historical sewing patterns), packed my stuff, and got in the car. I'm amazed that I managed to get ready that quickly, considering the fact that I had moved places the day before our departure to Denmark.
If that's not crazy enough, it was also my very first battle LARP behind the camera (thanks Rekografia for trusting me with your equipment, your knowledge, but foremost - for the great company). Usually, my galleries from LARPs have 100–200 post-processed pictures. After 3 days of Krigslive, I had taken... 3,800 photos. Like, what the hell, Alice, what have you done? Many drops of blood, sweat, and tears later, I've managed to go through all the photos and pick over 800 images that will be published soon on the official Krigslive fanpage

This whole Tech Priest build was the 10:1 ratio xD
Like 1 hour of actually cutting out the foam and fabric, and then 10 hours just straight weathering it. In 40k if it isn't covered in grime it just doesn't look right. My best tip is just using contrasting pigments—like put really bright dust on the dark metal parts and then dark grime on the red robes. It creates so much depth so the details actually show up from a distance. Basically the messier you are with it, the better it looks.
