Outlines

In 2025, Paide, the owner of the Outlines label, created a mix inspired by the fusion of trip hop and footwork productions. The tracklist featured tracks by Nightmares on Wax, Laika, Silent Poets, Nicolette and Waldeck. However, this mix did not explore the concept to its full potential and even called for further development.
In the second instalment of this project, Paide turned to the absolute classics of the genre: tracks by Massive Attack. The mix featured recordings from the canonical period of Massive Attack’s career, taken from the albums "Protection" and "Mezzanine". Paide also included legendary remixes by Mad Professor. The whole thing was, of course, filtered through minimalistic footwork productions.

Norbergfestival x Polska institutet Stockholm it was such a great pleasure to play there. Thank you!

The Norbergfestival has released its full lineup. Paweł “Paide” Dunajko, owner of the Outlines label, will perform on Thursday; a representative from Polish Juke Skint will play on Friday; and drummer Gary Gwadera will perform on Saturday.

The musical legacy of Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald is beyond measure. It transcends all genres and categories, being an endless source of inspiration for new generations of fans of techno, reggae, dub, or simply electronic music.

Pawel Dunajko, owner of outlines, has repeatedly credited the duo’s work as one of the main factors that shaped his musical sensibility. He has frequently used tracks by these very producers in his mixes and edits.

This mix once again dives into the musical world of Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald, pairing it with the music of another duo equally important to Pawel Dunajko. Japanese producers DJ Fulltono and CRZKNY laid the groundwork for a footwork hybrid that focuses on a reduced version of the genre from Chicago. Their collaborative project, Theater 1, is an essential release situated somewhere between minimal techno, dub, and a 160 bpm tempo. The artists frequently changed the tempo of their productions to around 120 bpm, and it is precisely these tracks that form the basis of this set. These recordings are completed by classic productions by Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald from their legendary Rhythm & Sound project.
