Today we were presented with this beatiful pin by our talented friends at Mi Polin. This limited edition was created exclusively for the Workmen's Circle of NY and it features the phrase "We're here" in Yiddish sculpted into a relief of the Warsaw Ghetto's wall. There could be no more adequate gift and no more adequate phrase for the 75th Anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. Thank you!

Dzięki Helena Czernek!

This is Lea and Israel. Lea's mother never spoke about the past, but she kept her passport and a copy of birth record. That's why we knew we had to visit Ustrzyki. Getting to Ustrzyki is a challenge on its own, but getting to the cemetery took us an hour or two of climbing and cutting through vegetation in 38 degrees Celsius. The picture shows Lea and Israel after visiting the cemetery.

I have just had the honor to speak on touring Poland at the 37th IAJGS International Conference on Jewish Genealogy in Orlando. The conference is coming to Warsaw next year and there is an overwhelmingly enthusiastic interest in visiting ancestral towns among participants, most of them Americans who have not been to Poland before. It will be a great event and I'm looking forward to taking part in it!

My participation was possible thanks to Gmina Żydowska w Warszawie and JRI-Poland. Thank you!
