The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday fin_ed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rs100,000 for using “delaying tactics” in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust corr_uption case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi.
The court highlighted slow judicial proceedings, restr_icted access to the acc_used, and prolonged scheduling of appeals. The f!ne was imp_osed as a w@rning to NAB to expedite the legal process.
The bench has directed the anti-graft body to come prepared for the next hearing, while the defence urged for early resolution before upcoming Eid holidays.

On February 27, 2026, the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) ruled that tax authorities may conduct raids under Section 175 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 without prior notice or ongoing proceedings.
A three-member bench led by Justice Aamer Farooq dismissed a petition by M/s Sceptre Pvt Ltd challenging a Sindh High Court decision over a December 2025 ra_id.
The court held that “enforcement” implies a breach, granting broad powers to officials to inspect premises, records, and digital data anytime. It stressed that clear legislative language cannot be reinterpreted by courts.

The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to compile a report identifying all individuals involved in maligning, scandalising, or attempting to subvert the dignity and authority of the judiciary through social media accounts, directly or indirectly.
Justice Ali Zia Bajwa was hearing a petition filed by a lawyer, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi Bhaddar, challenging an alleged character assassination campaign on social media against female judges of the high court.
The judge observed that any conduct amounting to contempt does not enjoy the protection of constitutional liberties and is not immune to legal action.

Shaping the Future of Justice — A Milestone in Pakistan’s National E-Court Reform Agenda
The Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) successfully convened a high-level Consultative Workshop on “National E-Court Reform Agenda: Requirements and Challenges,” held in line with the digital reform vision of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The workshop brought together experts from the Pakistan Digital Authority, the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan, the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication, and representatives from all tiers of the judiciary to deliberate on the national digital transformation agenda for Pakistan’s judiciary.
A key highlight of the event was the inspirational address by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, where his lordship reaffirmed the judiciary’s unwavering commitment to building a citizen-centric, transparent, and equitable justice system. His lordship emphasized that the integration of modern technology is no longer an option but essential for delivering accessible and efficient justice across the country. His Lordship also underscored the importance of the National Judicial Automation Committee (NJAC) in spearheading the digital transformation of the judiciary.
