کمر کا ٹیڑھا پن (Scoliosis) ایک پیچیدہ بیماری ہے۔ جس کو سیدھا کرنے کے لئے بہت مشکل سرجریز کرنا پڑتی ہیں۔ اکثر و بیشتر کمر کی ہڈی کو کاٹ کرسیدھا کرنا پڑتا جس کی وجہ سے خدانخواستہ مریض کے نیچلے دھڑ کے ناکارہ ہو نے یا جان سے جانے کا خطرہ بھی رہتا ہے۔
ایسوسی ایٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبداللہ شاہ نے بتایا کہ گُھرکی ٹرسٹ ٹیچنگ ہسپتال کےسپائن سنٹر میں 12سالہ فضہ ریاض کی کمر کے آپریشن میں ایک نئی اور جدید تکنیک کا استعمال کیا گیا ہے جس کو دنیا بھر میں سراہا جا رہا ہے۔ اس جدید تکنیک میں شکنجے (Halo pelvic) کی مدد سےپہلےکمر کی ہڈی کو آہستہ آہستہ سیدھا کیا گیاہے اور پھر ہڈی کو کاٹے بغیر آپریشن کر کے راڈز اور پیچ فِکس کیے گئےہیں تا کہ ہڈی دوبارہ ٹیڑھی نا ہو سکے اور پھر شکنجے کو اتار دیا گیا ہے۔
الحمداللہ! اب فضہ کی کمر بلکل سیدھی ہو چکی ہے اور وہ اپنی روزمرہ زندگی میں واپس لوٹ چکی ہے۔ فضہ اور لواحقین کاکہنا ہے کہ ڈکٹروں کی پیشہ وارانہ صلاحیتیں قابل دید ہے اور وہ گھرکی ہسپتال کے بہت شکر گزار ہیں۔

After the death of her husband, with no breadwinner in the house, accumulating debts and financial needs of her 4 children she decided to enter the humiliating contest and won the offensive title of "ugliest woman in the world" later she was hired by a circus, toured different cities where people came to laugh nd humiliate her. She endured the ridicule of others in order to raise her children nd give them a better quality of life. She died in 1933.
To this day, society judges people on their physical appearance, if our eyes could see souls instead of bodies, Mary Ann would have been the most beautiful woman in the world.

I’m never going to stop sharing the gut wrenching, heartbreaking, soul shattering story of our sweet Aliza Rose. She was 8 days old when she passed away. She was born a happy healthy almost 9lb baby. She was healthy for a day and half before the HSV-1 virus attached to her spine and ate her lungs and brain. Someone touched her without washing their hands or kissed her face while being a carrier of the virus. And anyone can be a carrier and not show signs!
