Today, 19th March 2026, the Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan's verification team led by Secretary Mr. Usman sb, conducted a visit to review the progress of ongoing emergency works related to the W/P sub division Nomal-Nalter. During the visit, the team inspected the site and reviewed the status of both old (2024-25) and new (2025-26) emergency works. XEN CED Water and Power Engr. Jamsheed Akbar and SDO Civil Engr. Hasnain Ali were also present during the visit. The verification team was shown all aspects of the works, from start to end, and the team completed the verification process. The team also instructed to update pictures along with the work progress, and the site visit was stisfactory.

An avalanche occurred upstream of the 18 MW HPS power channel, causing damage to several portions of the approach road. However, water flow in the channel remains continuous. Although some boulders have entered the channel, the structure is safe.
