Christmas 2025 🎄
Our quietest Christmas yet.
No tree. No decorations. This year, I simply didn’t feel like putting them up. No trips either—no long airport lines, no siksikan, no rushing from one attraction to another. No hotels—because no matter how beautiful they are, breakfasts and room service are always at their worst during Christmas and New Year season.

So we chose stillness, simple, unhurried.

There was a moment, when I’m asking myself why I didn’t try harder—why I didn’t exert more effort to make it look or feel “more” like Christmas. But then: I have been (over)exerting in so many other ways alllllll yearrrrrr longggggg.

This Christmas, I just needed to rest.
To be quiet.
To do nothing.
To be.

Sometimes, celebration doesn’t look festive or loud. Sometimes it looks like choosing stillness, quiet moments, protecting your energy, tending to your sanity, and taking care of your own stack first. A different picture but that, too, is enough.

Festivals are a big thing in my kids’ school. They look forward to each and every single one. We schedule our travels and engagements around the Festival dates to ensure they don’t miss even a single. I remember crying myself silly the very first time I watched them do Michaelmas. I hold my breath specially watching them do the vertical rope climb. Every year they go higher and higher in the climb. Each year, each child only go as high as what they are comfortable with. So many layers of learnings in this festival. Each and every kid have their own key takeaways. But my most favorite part is always - “I did it mommy! I was so scared. I can feel myself trembling. But I did it!” Their victories and their excitement and their discoveries about themselves - their fears, their limits, facing their fears, realizing their inner strengths. Each activity has layers ans layers of life lessons. On days I am doubting myself and my decisions - I look at how happy they are in their school - and I knew there’s at least one good decision I made
