Some lessons I learned the hard way.
The love you give for free will always be treated like a second option. It's human nature to undervalue anything that comes without effort. Love itself never hurts, it's the people who don't know how to love. And you'll break yourself trying to fix someone who was never willing to choose you in the first place.

This hits so close to home! Wanting less doesn’t mean accepting less than you deserve. You can be low maintenance and still expect respect, effort, and consistency. Standards don’t disappear just because you’re adaptable.

Needing space isn't manipulation.
Shutting down to cope isn’t wrong.
But ghosting someone emotionally without any explanation for long periods—that’s where misunderstandings and hurt pile up.
