The "Seven Deadly Sins" (Nanatsu no Taizai) are a group of elite knights in the anime/manga series of the same name, each representing one of the traditional cardinal sins assigned to them due to a past crime.

​1. Meliodas – The Dragon's Sin of Wrath
​Symbol: Dragon (on his left arm)
​Backstory: His sin stems from losing control of his demonic power after the tragic death of his lover, Liz. In a fit of uncontrollable rage, he completely obliterated the entire Kingdom of Danafor, leaving a massive crater in its place.

​2. Ban – The Fox's Sin of Greed
​Symbol: Fox (on his waist)
​Backstory: Accused of burning down the Fairy King's Forest and killing the Holy Maiden, Elaine, out of desire for the Fountain of Youth. In reality, Ban was trying to save Elaine, and she gave him the immortality potion to save his life as she died.

​3. King (Harlequin) – The Grizzly's Sin of Sloth
​Symbol: Bear (on his left ankle)
​Backstory: As the Fairy King, he left his realm to search for his best friend, Helbram, but lost his memories for hundreds of years. During his absence, Helbram slaughtered humans, and King was held responsible for turning a blind eye to the destruction of both human and fairy lives.

​4. Diane – The Serpent's Sin of Envy
​Symbol: Serpent (on her left outer thigh)
​Backstory: Framed by envious Holy Knights who killed her mentor, Matrona, using poison. The knights claimed Diane killed Matrona out of jealousy for her strength, forcing Diane to take the blame for the incident.

​5. Gowther – The Goat's Sin of Lust
​Symbol: Goat (on his chest)
​Backstory: Gowther, a doll created by a great wizard, was found with the lifeless body of Nadja, the Liones king's sister. They were in love, and Nadja died of a heart condition while they were together. He was wrongfully accused of ra**ng and murdering her.

​6. Merlin – The Boar's Sin of Gluttony
​Symbol: Boar (on the left side of her neck)
​Backstory: Her sin is a gluttony for knowledge and power. Born with infinite magic potential, she tricked both the Supreme Deity and the Demon King into giving her powerful blessings by promising to join their sides, only to take the gifts and betray them both, leading to her hometown's destruction.

​7. Escanor – The Lion's Sin of Pride
​Symbol: Lion (on his back)
​Backstory: Born a prince, his cursed magical strength ("Sunshine") frightened his parents, who deemed him a monster and tried to have him killed. His pride comes from his daytime form, where his immense power makes him incredibly arrogant, though at night he is gentle and weak.
