Making wonders with macrame~

2023/09/07 I just tried making this macrame net bag kit I bought last June 2023. It already includes the pattern (in Japanese), grid guides, and macrame ropes. It also has QR Code for video tutorials. It was difficult to work on when you did not have a sturdy board and pins. I was only using a puzzle mat at that time so it was challenging! The pattern and knots were easy to work on, and I had fun doing it, but it was a bit uncomfortable without the right tools.

I still remember making these handmade notebooks in July 2023 as part of our Teacher Training. It was a wonderful and challenging experience. I never thought I could make a notebook from scratch. From folding each signature (sheets of paper) to painting the book cover, it was a stressful but mind-blowing experience! 🤯 With the help of our colleague and teacher, Tita Molly, we were able to make different kinds of handmade notebooks - mini leather notebook, hardbound notebook, and simple bookbinding notebook.

As the saying goes, "Great things often have small beginnings." Just like this granny square that I made. This piece started so small, then it turned out to be wonderful. 🌈

I embroidered this flower and bee design on my work apron last year, and I'm glad it's still holding up for the new school year.

I made these cute and cozy baby booties 🐣 as a gift for a coworker's newborn baby last year. They are made of hand-dyed combed cotton yarn. I couldn't help but coo at their cuteness while making them. The black set was a custom order and is also partnered with a beanie and a pair of mittens. Hmmmm anytime soon, I'll be making another pair of baby booties. I'm excited! 🤩

Last year, while exploring the busy streets of Shinjuku, I came across a hidden gem. Although it wasn't part of my original plans, I couldn't resist the urge to visit some craft stores. It felt like stepping into a crafter's paradise, and I was completely in awe. Each floor and corner of the store was dedicated to different crafts, but my favorite part was the yarn, crochet, and knitting section – it was like heaven to me. I want to go back!!!

When you want a new bag and outfit but never mind... Mag-uukay at magdi-DIY na lang ako!

Ilang linggo na lang at balik work na ulit ako! Hmmm, ano kayang mga magaganap para sa panibagong school year na ito? Ako ay excited pero kinakabahan!

🧶📸: 20221114 - Napulot lang namin yung mga branches sa paligid ng school tapos gumamit din kami ng mga retasong yarns. Fun 'di ba? You can still make something beautiful kahit parang patapon na. 🤩👍 I created the leftmost and rightmost weaved branches, while my two students made the ones in the middle.

Crocheting has always been my favorite hobby. One of the things I enjoy making is 🐙 octopus amigurumi. It's easy and quick to make and ofc, just look at them... they're incredibly cute! 🥹
