PUBLIC ADVISORY FROM DPWH SAMAR 2ND DEO as of October 10, 2025; 4:00 PM
IMPLEMENTATION OF LOAD RESTRICTION
AT CALBIGA BRIDGE, Maharlika Highway, Calbiga, Samar
The DPWH Samar 2nd DEO will implement a 15-ton Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) load restriction at Calbiga Bridge effective October 27, 2025.
Based on the results of the latest technical and load rating assessment, the Calbiga Bridge along Maharlika Highway has been found to exhibit signs of structural deterioration and reduced load-carrying capacity due to long-term service and repeated overloading.
This imposition of weight restrictions at Calbiga Bridge is undertaken to protect lives, prevent possible bridge failure, and sustain safe connectivity along the Maharlika Highway.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
