𝐓𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜, 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲,

We, the Editorial Board of ISKOLARIUM, would like to address the concerns and reactions regarding the recent publication of student-submitted responses through our initiative.

First and foremost, we acknowledge that the post contained a wide range of responses, both positive and critical. However, we emphasize that the purpose of the initiative was to gather authentic student voices regarding their lived academic experiences, in an anonymous and safe manner. The nature of anonymity is central to encouraging honest participation, especially in an environment where students may fear repercussions or academic intimidation.

We recognize the concern raised regarding the inclusion of identifiable references within some responses. As a student publication, we do not intend to defame, attack, or discredit any individual, office, or organization. The intent of publishing these responses is to reflect student sentiment, not to assign guilt or make unverified accusations. We understand the responsibility that comes with publication, and we remain committed to exercising editorial judgment in contextualizing public discourse moving forward.

However, we also wish to clarify that the publication of these responses is not an act of personal targeting, but an exercise of student journalism grounded in the principle of giving space to student voices. The concerns raised are part of a broader discourse on institutional practices, and should be treated as matters for reflection and dialogue rather than as isolated attacks.

We also respectfully address the concern regarding anonymity and the request to disclose identities behind submitted responses. ISKOLARIUM upholds strict confidentiality in all submissions under . We cannot and will not disclose any personal identifying information of respondents, as this would compromise the trust and safety of the students who entrusted us with their voices.

We also take note of the concerns raised by members of the academic community regarding the impact of publication on institutional image. While we acknowledge these perspectives, we reaffirm that student journalism exists not only to highlight achievements, but also to surface lived realities that may otherwise remain unheard. Constructive criticism, when rooted in student experience, is not an attack, it is part of meaningful academic discourse.

At the same time, we do not support harassment, intimidation, or any form of pressure directed toward students or members of the publication in relation to the content of their anonymous submissions. Calls for accountability must always be balanced with respect for due process, journalistic ethics, and student safety.

ISKOLARIUM remains open to dialogue with faculty, administrators, and student leaders in order to better refine how future student-sentiment initiatives are handled, particularly in balancing transparency, context, and ethical reporting.

We stand by our role as a student publication committed to responsible journalism, and we will continue to serve as a platform where student voices may be expressed freely, safely, and respectfully.

“From the students, for the students. Magsusulat at magmumulat.”

Note: Any and all forms of harassment, intimidation, and/or retaliatory action against any individual, group, or organization for personal gain shall not be tolerated by the student publication.
