On March 8, 2026, the Baliwag Maritime Academy (BMA) achieved a historic milestone as it participated for the first time in the Local Annual and General Tactical Inspection (LAGTI). The inspection brought together members of the Philippine Naval Inspection Team and the academy’s administration, demonstrating BMA’s commitment in maintaining high standards in maritime education, institutional management, and operational readiness. The event also strengthened the academy’s coordination and compliance with established naval inspection and evaluation procedures.

The LAGTI Inspection Team led by the Commandant of Philippine Naval Reserve Center National Capital Region Commander Anecito Lumantas PN (GSC) and CPO Ariel Bathan PN. , together with Lieutenant Commander Villanueva, Head of the LAGTI Inspection Team conducted the official visit. The delegation also included Chief Masteral Arm Jimenez, Seaman First Class Cordero, Seaman First Class Belotindos, and Seaman Second Class De Vera. They were formally received by the BMA Administration headed by School Director Capt. Maximo Pestano and Quality Management Representative Ms. Ma. Concepcion C. Ong, along with the BMA Corps and Staff , marking the commencement of the inspection activities at the academy.

An opening meeting between the Philippine Navy Representatives and the BMA Administration was held first then the Arrival Honors Ceremony at 0840H welcoming the guest of honor and the members of the LAGTI Inspection Team. The ceremony highlighted the academy’s respect and recognition for the distinguished guests prior to the conduct of the inspection. Afterwards, the LAGTI inspection officially commenced, initiating the scheduled assessment and evaluation of the academy’s facilities, programs, and compliance with established training and institutional standards.

The conduct of the Local Annual and General Tactical Inspection (LAGTI) highlighted its vital role not only in institutional evaluation but also in the academic development and formation of midshipmen at Baliwag Maritime Academy.

More than a routine inspection, the activity served as a significant milestone in the professional growth and discipline of future maritime officers, providing valuable knowledge, guidance, and standards essential to their training. It also fostered stronger collaboration, reinforcing a shared commitment to continuous improvement, excellence in maritime education, and the development of competent and responsible seafarers.

A significant step toward expanding opportunities for future seafarers was marked as Sinosinfil Maritime Inc. and Baliwag Maritime Academy reached a collaborative agreement to strengthen their cadetship program, providing aspiring maritime professionals with greater access to shipboard training and industry exposure.

The delegation from Sinosinfil Maritime Inc. arrived at the academy at exactly 1000H, marking the beginning of a visit focused on building stronger academic–industry cooperation. The partnership, led by C/E Robert C. Santillan of Sinosinfil Maritime Inc. and Capt. Maximo Pestaño, School Director of Baliwag Maritime Academy, aims to bridge maritime education and real-world sea experience by opening more opportunities for cadets to develop the skills and competencies required in the global maritime industry.

During the visit, Sinosinfil officials shared that the company operates around 40 vessels with principals based in Singapore and China. As part of the initial collaboration, the company expressed its intention to select four deck cadets and six engine cadets exclusively from the graduating students of Baliwag Maritime Academy for the cadetship program, providing them with the opportunity to gain actual shipboard training and professional exposure in the maritime industry.

The visit concluded with a brief closing discussion and a photo opportunity between the representatives of Sinosinfil Maritime Inc. and the Officials of Baliwag Maritime Academy. Both parties expressed optimism that the partnership will strengthen industry academic collaboration and open more opportunities for future cadets.

The day concluded with a strong sense of fulfillment and camaraderie, as each team embodied the pride, discipline, and competitive spirit that continue to define Baliwag Maritime Academy’s athletic and academic tradition.

The 32nd Founding Anniversary of Baliwag Maritime Academy held the Poster Making competition in Audio Visual Room with a theme of " 32 Years of Building Discipline, Leadership, and Excellence at Sea". The cadets exhibit creativity by using different artistic techniques and applying the core values of the academy to design the posters.

They demonstrated teamwork and attention throughout the process of making the poster. Additionally, using maritime concepts to represent the technical and academic mastery in maritime studies.

Last December 12, 2025, Baliwag Maritime Academy (BMA) warmly welcomed delegates from Kotobuki Kaiun Co. Ltd., a distinguished Japanese Shipping Company. To honor their visit, BMA conducted a formal Arrival of Honor Ceremony, showcasing its tradition of respect and hospitality

After the ceremony, the visitors were given a guided tour of BMA’s state-of-the-art facilities. The Kotobuki Kaiun representatives expressed their appreciation for the academy’s continuous effort to improve maritime education and training standards.

The visit marks another milestone for Baliwag Maritime Academy as it continues to strengthen ties with global shipping companies, providing cadets with greater opportunities for future shipboard training and employment. This partnership reflects BMA’s ongoing commitment to excellence and its mission to prepare students for the demands of the maritime industry.
