The 2026 Montalban District Schools Press Conference (DSPC) successfully concluded yesterday at Kasiglahan Village National High School, with campus journalists from all public and private schools across the district demonstrating their skills in various journalism competitions despite unfavorable weather conditions.

Undeterred by the rain, participants, coaches, judges, members of the technical working group, school heads principal consultants led by PSDS-in-charge of Journalism, Ma. Cristina C. Camarse and other PSDSs remained committed to ensuring the successful conduct of the annual event, highlighting the resilience, dedication, and passion of Montalban’s young journalists in promoting responsible and ethical campus journalism.

The District Schools Press Conference continues to serve as a vital platform in honing the talents of aspiring student journalists and preparing them for higher levels of competition.

The winners and qualifiers to the Division Schools Press Conference will be announced in the Awarding Ceremony on August 15 at the same venue.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: MONTALBAN, Rizal — Eulogio Rodriguez Elementary School (ERES) stamped its dominance on the track as its boys’ and girls’ teams delivered commanding performances during the athletics competition of the 2026 Montalban Municipal Meet at the Montalban Sports Complex on July 25.

𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀: 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗼 𝗘𝗦, 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘆𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗦 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀

𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗕𝗔𝗡, 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗹 - Geronimo Elementary School and Amityville Elementary School emerged as champions in the Elementary Girls’ and Boys’ team divisions, respectively, during the 2026 Municipal Meet Chess Tournament held from July 18 to 25.

Geronimo ES secured the girls’ team gold behind the strong performances of Alexa Faith Caaya and Sophia Anne Co**ha, while Amityville ES topped the boys’ division led by Rody Elias Kaufman and Jansen Escalderon.

In the individual competition, Alyiah Xycy Beltran of Frames of Mind School swept all five matches to claim the girls’ gold medal, while Kaufman also posted a perfect 5-0 record to capture the boys’ individual crown.

The week-long tournament showcased the municipality’s top young chess players, with winners earning the opportunity to represent the district in the next stage of the athletic meet.
