Atty. Thaddeus “Thaddy” E. Venturanza currently serves as Governor for the Southern Luzon Region of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, bringing with him decades of experience in law, public service, governance, and professional leadership.

A lawyer and certified public accountant from Oriental Mindoro, Gov. Thaddy has long been recognized for his commitment to excellence and public service. He placed 5th in the 1989 Philippine Bar Examinations and ranked 15th in the May 1982 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination.

His distinguished career includes serving as Vice Governor of Oriental Mindoro from 2001 to 2004 and later as Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he contributed to the advancement of good governance and regulatory integrity.

Under his leadership, the Southern Luzon Region continues to strengthen connections among its chapters in ways that ultimately benefit the communities they serve — through stronger legal aid initiatives, more responsive programs, wider collaboration, and a Region better equipped to bring legal service and public engagement closer to the people.

As Southern Luzon continues to build its own identity as a Region, Gov. Thaddy remains committed to fostering a community that is not only professionally strong, but genuinely connected in service and purpose.

Yesterday, May 17, 2026, the Lawyers’ Fellowship of Greenhills Christian Fellowship (GCF), in partnership with the **IBP Rizal–RSM Chapter**, successfully conducted another free legal consultation activity at GCF Ortigas.

Throughout the afternoon, individuals carrying different legal concerns were given the opportunity to ask questions, seek guidance, and better understand the options available to them. From family concerns to workplace issues and other personal legal matters, volunteer lawyers took time to listen and provide assistance to members of the community.

What made the activity meaningful was not only the legal guidance shared, but the reminder that access to justice begins with making ourselves available to those who need help.

Maraming salamat sa GCF community, our partner volunteers, and the lawyers who generously gave their time and service.

Apparently, lawyers do touch grass. 😭🚶‍♂️

Last Friday evening, May 15, members of the RSM Walking Group and Cat Parents Group teamed up with Cats of Ortigas for a walk around Ortigas Center that turned into a full RSM crossover episode. 😂

The agenda?

🐈 feed community cats
🍜 and of course… end the night with dinner because the Foodies Group somehow always finds its way into the plans anyway. 😅

Honestly, this is exactly the kind of community we want to build in RSM.

Yes, we work hard. Yes, we take the profession seriously. But we also believe lawyers deserve spaces where they can unwind, connect, laugh, and enjoy shared interests outside of hearings, deadlines, and “pls see attached” emails.

So consider this the official hard launch of the growing RSM Hobby & Interest Groups:

May 16, 2026 | Session 4

Another meaningful session for the Youth Policy Builders Lab (YPBL) as our young policy builders engaged with conversations on law, leadership, service, and the realities of practice.

The IBP Rizal–RSM Chapter proudly thanks two of our own for sharing their time and insights with the participants:

Atty. Matthew Casis, Deputy Director for Labor, and
Atty. Carlo Viel D. Saplan, Deputy Director for Clinical Legal Education and Practice (CLEP).

Through their discussions and mentorship, our participants were reminded that policy work is not only about systems and institutions, but also about service, responsibility, and people.

Week by week, the conversations grow deeper.
And so does the work.

Their voice. Their ideas. Their time to build.

The LEGAL AID DRIVE is happening today, May 17, from 12:00 NN to 5:00 PM at the Fellowship Hall, Ground Floor of GCF Ortigas.

✅ This is OPEN to individuals who:
• Have personal legal concerns (family law, estate matters, tenancy disputes, minor criminal issues, etc.)
• Cannot afford legal consultation elsewhere
• Walk-in and sign the required waiver before consultation

❌ We will NOT be accommodating:
• Legal issues between two or more GCF members
• Business, corporate, commercial, or financial concerns
• Requests for document drafting, contracts, or notarization
• Ongoing legal cases requiring court representation

What a night for Rizal–RSM. 🎸🔥

Congratulations to our very own Rizal Sound Movement for proudly bringing home 2nd Runner-Up honors at BandTURANZA 2026!

To the IBP Batangas Chapter and IBP Quezon Chapter, congratulations as well on an incredible showing, and to all the participating chapters and bands, thank you for making the night unforgettable through music, fellowship, and pure Southern Luzon energy.

We also extend our congratulations and appreciation to our Southern Luzon Regional Governor, Atty. Thaddeus “Thaddy” Venturanza, for successfully bringing the Region together through an event that celebrated not only talent, but chapter pride and camaraderie.

And to everyone who supported Rizal Sound Movement all throughout the night — ramdam namin kayo. 🫰

KARAPATAN MO, BOSES MO.
At noong Sabado, May 16, 2026, maraming boses ang napakinggan. ⚖️

Sa pamamagitan ng libreng legal consultation, document review, notaryo, at seminars on VAWC and Small Claims, muling nailapit ang serbisyong legal sa komunidad at nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang marami nating kababayan na malinawan sa kanilang mga karapatan at mga maaaring hakbang na gawin.

Hindi lahat ng lumalapit ay naghahanap agad ng kaso o laban sa korte. Minsan, kailangan lang nila ng tamang gabay, malinaw na paliwanag, at assurance na may handang makinig at tumulong.

At minsan, malaking bagay na iyon.

Maraming salamat sa ating volunteer lawyers at partners na naglaan ng oras at serbisyo para maging posible ang programang ito.

At higit sa lahat, taos-pusong pasasalamat sa Rotary Club of San Juan del Monte sa pag-organisa at pangunguna sa outreach na ito, at sa patuloy na pakikipagpartner sa IBP Rizal–RSM Chapter para mailapit ang legal services sa mas maraming miyembro ng komunidad. We truly appreciate the trust, partnership, and shared commitment to public service.

Isa ‘yan sa mga pinaka-karaniwang tanong na naririnig natin tuwing Project Lunas.
At kahapon, sa ating Main Office sa Ortigas at Satellite Office sa Taytay, muli nating sinikap sagutin hindi lang ang mga legal na tanong, kundi pati yung pangambang matagal nang pasan ng mga lumalapit para humingi ng tulong.

May mga usaping pamilya.
May problema sa trabaho.
May alitan sa lupa.
May gustong magsimula ulit pero hindi alam kung saan magsisimula.

At sa bawat konsultasyon, may mga abogado ring patuloy na pumipiling maglaan ng oras, kaalaman, at serbisyo para sa kapwa.

Mukhang marami ang napa-OT kagabi ah… at baka pati ngayong oras na ito, gising pa rin. 👀

Kaya naman ngayong Labor Month, pag-usapan natin kung ano nga ba ang overtime work, sino ang entitled sa overtime pay, at paano ito kinukuwenta sa ilalim ng batas paggawa.

Samahan ninyo kaming himayin ang ilang basic ngunit importanteng alituntunin tungkol sa overtime pay at mga karapatan ng manggagawa. Dahil ang dagdag na oras sa trabaho ay dapat may kaakibat ding tamang bayad at proteksyon.
