The Naval Reserve Center Eastern Mindanao (NRCen-EM) successfully conducted its Local Annual General Tactical Inspection (LAGTI) 2026, bringing together NROTC Units across its area of responsibility in a powerful display of discipline, competence, and unity. From Arrival Honors to Rank Inspection and other military events, cadets showcased not only their technical knowledge but also their unwavering commitment to service and excellence.

The Commander, NRCen-EM, CAPT LIBERTY C GAMUETA PN(GSC), proudly awarded Plaque of Recognition to the top performing NROTC Units:

3rd Place – 723rd NROTCU, Agro Industrial College of the Philippines, Davao City

2nd Place – 778th NROTCU, Regency Polytechnic College Inc. Koronadal, South Cotabato

OVER-ALL CHAMPION – 723rd NROTCU (Aff), Davao del Norte State College, Panabo, Davao del Norte

For an impressive four consecutive years, Davao del Norte State College has demonstrated dominance and sustained excellence, earning not only the Perpetual Trophy but also the honor of representing Naval Reserve Center Eastern Mindanao in the upcoming National NROTC COmpetition. This achievement reflects the unit’s discipline, dedication, and commitment to the highest standards of ROTC training. The 723rd Naval Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Unit (Affiliate) of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) asserted its dominance after earning top honors in this year’s Local Annual General Tactical Inspection (LAGTI) under the Eastern Mindanao Naval Reserve Force on April 11, 2026, at the DNSC campus.

This year’s assessment introduced stricter and more competency-based standards, including the random selection of cadets for Military Stakes, First Aid, and Comprehensive Examination, expanded coverage of written tests, and revised guidelines for parades and ceremonies.

“Since the inspectors now choose cadets randomly for the tests, I made sure everyone trained the same way, not just a few top students. We practiced drills and first aid over and over so that any cadet called upon would feel ready and confident to represent our unit,” said Cadet Col. Thrisia Mangubat, Corps Commander of the 723rd NROTCU (Affiliate).

Among the featured activities were Arrival Honors, Ceremonial Parade, Close Order Drill, Land Navigation, Field Stripping, Knot Tying, Tactical Exercises, Morse Code and Semaphore, Flag Identification, Comprehensive Examination, Administrative Inspection, and Medics Comprehensive/Practical, each measured military professionalism, technical competence, tactical ex*****on, and organizational efficiency.

Despite intense heat, Kiarra Restauro, one of the cadets who joined the Ceremonial Parade, expressed, “Sa pagpahitabo sa ceremonial parade, dili malikayan nga makabati mi ug kakulba og mapaso sa kainit, pero puno kaayo ko sa paglaom nga modaog mi maong nakaya ra jud ang pila ka minuto nga pagtindog og pagmartsa.”

One cadet who participated in the Comprehensive Examination admitted that the assessment tested not only their knowledge but also their resilience. Despite being thoroughly trained, unexpected mistakes and the emotional weight of the results challenged morale among examinees.

With another title bagged, the 723rd NROTCU (Affiliate)—DNSC is now gearing up for the Annual General Tactical Inspection (AGTI), where they aim to once again uphold the standards and honor it is building.

[LOOK] On April 25, 2026, the 723rd NROTCU (Affiliate) - DNSC successfully conducted an Information Drive on Basic Cybersecurity Hygiene and Information Collection at Davao del Norte State College, Panabo City.

In line with the Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Force Development Strategy 2023–2028, the activity aimed to strengthen the capability of NROTC cadets as force multipliers by equipping them with essential knowledge and awareness on cybersecurity practices. Cadets were oriented on identifying digital threats, safeguarding sensitive information, and practicing discipline in the cyber domain.

The activity was further enriched by the presence of subject matter experts from NCWG-EM and NISG-EM:
• LTJG Abdul Ranziz J. Aidal PN – Lecturer on Insider Threat
• SN2 Rex J. Castronuevo PN – Lecturer on Cyber Hygiene

Through this effort, the unit continues to develop well-rounded, informed, and mission-ready cadets who are capable of contributing to the overall security and integrity of the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
