📣 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦!

- Ms. Cams, Service-Learning Unit Head

Last April 22, the SIGLA Batch of Interior Design Exhibit (INTDXHI) students conducted their project turnover to the De La Salle University - Dasmariñas, Bahay Pag-Asa, a 'transformation center for children in conflict with the law.' The students facilitated the renovation of the center's music hall and bakery. The program included messages from school heads and faculty advisers as well as a description of the process from the project managers. The highlight, however, is the musical performances of the Bahay Pag-asa youth through piano, flute, and choral numbers.

The Service-Learning Unit would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the Interior Design faculty for their efforts, patience, and perseverance in guiding the overall process and project implementation of the current batch. We would also like to thank the administrators of Bahay Pag-asa for opening its doors for our students so that they could synthesize their skills and knowledge into service and compassion. Lastly, we want to congratulate the students on the successful completion of this Service-Learning project.

We hope this initiative becomes a symbol of acceptance and empathy instead of social stigma. We also hope that the revamped spaces become a catalyst for change and empowerment for the youth of Bahay Pag-Asa.

A term filled with meaningful service-learning implementations concluded with each class's final presentation to their respective partner organizations!

The whole month of April was full of sleepless nights, endless revisions, consultations, and final presentations by our students that resulted in excellent outputs and collaterals. They are indeed the epitome of being socially responsible and doing ordinary things extraordinarily well!

The Service-Learning Unit would like to extend its deepest appreciation to our faculty for their seamless guidance and for imparting their expertise to our students. We would also like to thank our partners, our co-educators, for facilitating learning through letting our students experience realities beyond theories and outside the four walls of the classroom.
