Sealed during the 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, this collaboration marks another meaningful step toward expanding academic opportunities, cultural exchange, and innovation for MCC students and faculty.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by 𝗠𝗖𝗖 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗗𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝘇𝗺𝗮𝗻 and 𝗖𝗛𝗨 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝘂, witnessed by the UFTE Board of Director/MCC faculty representative, Ms. Jae Ann Dela Cruz, symbolizing a shared commitment to internationalization and academic excellence.

𝗠𝗖𝗖 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗮𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is pleased to inform interested parties of the call for applications to the 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐦 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 to be held in Hungary under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hungary.

The scholarship will cover tuition fees for the entire study period, dormitory accommodation assistance, monthly subsistence allowance, and medical insurance. The Confucius Institute at the University of the Philippines Diliman celebrated its 10th Anniversary on September 30, 2025, at University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City.

Mabalacat City College (MCC) was represented by key officials: Dr. Myrna Calma, Vice President for Administration; Jennyfer Merza, Vice President for External Affairs; and Dr. Joven Ocampo, Dean of the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Since 2018, MCC has been a proud partner of the Confucius Institute in offering free Mandarin courses for students and faculty, conducted by Chinese national instructors. This collaboration has opened opportunities for cultural exchange and language learning, fostering stronger educational ties between the Philippines and China.

The anniversary celebration not only honored a decade of achievements but also reaffirmed the shared vision of MCC and the Confucius Institute in advancing global education and intercultural understanding.

MCC was represented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝘆𝗿𝗻𝗮 𝗖. 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗮, Vice President for Administration, and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘆𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝘇𝗮, Vice President for External Affairs, who joined esteemed leaders including 𝗗𝗿. 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗧. 𝗡𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗼, Philippine Director of the Confucius Institute, UP Diliman Chancellor 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼 𝗟. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗜, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗮, President of the Filipino-Chinese Amity Club, Inc.

The ceremony also featured an inspiring keynote address by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗧. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲, Professor Emeritus of History at UP Diliman, who reflected on the Philippines–China relationship and its lessons for the future. A symbolic releasing of doves and the unveiling of a photo exhibition highlighted the day, celebrating peace, unity, and cultural exchange.

Looking forward, Mabalacat City College is set to renew its partnership with the Confucius Institute, reaffirming its commitment to global cooperation, academic opportunities, and cultural understanding for its students and community.

𝗠𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 formally signed a Letter of Cooperation with the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 – 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀, 𝗢𝗺𝗮𝗻, further strengthening its commitment to international collaboration and research excellence.

The signing was held in the presence of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗲𝘀, Head of Economics and Business Administration of UTAS Shinas, Oman; 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗗𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝘇𝗺𝗮𝗻, Acting President of Mabalacat City College; 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘆𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝘇𝗮, Vice President for External Affairs; and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗼, Vice President for Research and Extension Services.

This partnership marks the beginning of meaningful initiatives that include collaborative research projects, the promotion of a stronger research culture, and the conduct of an online research methodology workshop. It also sets the stage for the planned International Intercollegiate Hackathon on Sustainable Social Entrepreneurship, an innovative platform that will bring together students and researchers from different parts of the world to address pressing global challenges.

Through this cooperation, MCC continues to expand opportunities for its students, faculty, and researchers to engage in impactful academic pursuits, ensuring that the institution remains at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and global academic excellence.
