The $142 million project was raised quietly over 18 months through the JBJ Soul Foundation and faith- and community-based donors who insisted on remaining anonymous. There were no benefit concerts. No press tours. No public announcements until the doors were ready to open.

The first patient was Thomas, a 61-year-old Navy veteran who hadn’t seen a doctor in 14 years. Jon personally carried his worn duffel bag inside, placed a steady hand on his shoulder, and knelt beside him as nurses began intake. Witnesses say the room fell silent.
