Hydroponics ay isang hindi tradisyonal na pagtatanim na gumagamit lamang ng tubig na may organic nutrient solution.

Mas mainam ang hydroponics sa mga tanim na ginagamit sa pag gawa ng salad, sapagkat higit na mas malinis at walang anumang insekto ang mga dahon nito.

Sa buong life cycle ng Lettuce, hindi kailan man umapak sa lupa ang mga dahon nito. Naka angat ang mga tanim sa lebel ng lupa sa loob ng controlled space.
