Today, we remember the men and women behind our freedom—𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘪 𝘴𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘰𝘥 𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘢𝘯—whose sacrifices built the Philippines we live in today.

Observed every last Monday of August, National Heroes Day pays tribute to all Filipinos, known and unknown—who gave their lives for our country’s freedom and progress.

First declared in 1931 to commemorate the Cry of Pugad Lawin, the holiday has grown to honor not only revolutionary leaders, but also everyday heroes who continue to serve the nation.

Beyond a holiday, it is a reminder that heroism endures through courage, truth, and service. As we commemorate this day, may we carry forward the same spirit of patriotism that shaped our nation.

Today, we remember a man whose life embodied unwavering patriotism and the fight for democracy.

“𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘥𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳,” He said.

Ninoy’s life reminds us that true patriotism means rising above ourselves for the common good.

In unity, in service, and in truth—may we live up to that call. For the government is not just those in power, it is the Filipino people.
