The Basilan State College - Reserve Officersβ Training Corps Unit (BaSC-ROTCU) proudly joined the Parade of Lights in celebration of the Sakayan Festival, marking Isabela Cityβs 25th Charter Anniversary with the theme βReflection and Direction @25
β, on 25 April 2026.
The BaSC ROTC Unit under the supervision of 1604CDC led by SSg Richard Tanudtanud (Inf) PA, Training NCO of BSC-ROTC unit.
The Parade of Lights started at the East Terminal, Barangay Sunrise, and was participated in by various sectors and agencies in Isabela City.
The streets of Isabela City were lit up with the magical Parade of Lights, as participants marched proudly wearing lighted headbands and waving illuminated sticks.
Let this Sakayan Festival be more than a celebration. Let it be a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to cherish, uphold, and pass on the rich heritage, vibrant culture, and enduring spirit of our beloved Isabela City.

The Basilan State College - Reserve Officersβ Training Corps Unit (BaSC-ROTCU) successfully conducted its regular Sunday formation and lecture session on 12 April 2026, at the BaSC Gymnasium and CAS Building, respectively.
The session was held under the supervision of MAJ James Audie L. Jaque (INF) PA, Director of the 1604th CDC, together with MAJ Joel S. Sioting PA (RES), BSC-ROTC Commandant/Coordinator, Asst. Professor Christian B. Padrique, NSTP Director of Basilan State College, and TSg Vincent R. Lacastesantos (Inf) PA, Chief Clerk of the BSC-ROTC Unit.
The unit had the honor of being visited by Col. Noel Z. Plaza, Regional Director of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) for BARMM. He inspired the cadets by sharing important life values and highlighting the vital role of the youth in nation-building, urging them to become productive and responsible citizens of our nation.
The lectures facilitated by Agent Adrian M Radaza, and Agent Gian Carlo Iniego, apersonnel from NICA-BARMM 17. Topic discussed on Orientation of Youth and Student regarding on CTG recruitment and exploitation, Maritime Domain Awareness on West Philippine Sea and Introduction to Security Awareness.
As we continue our training, let us always remember that the youth is the hope of the nation. As ROTC cadets, we carry a great responsibility β to develop ourselves into disciplined, patriotic, and capable individuals who will one day serve and lead our country.

The Basilan State College - Reserve Officersβ Training Corps Unit (BaSC-ROTCU) proudly joined in commemorating the 84th Anniversary of the Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) through the Lakad Kalayaan and a Flag Raising Ceremony held on 09 April 2026 at the Basilan State College Main Campus, Isabela City, Basilan.
The activity was spearheaded by ππ΄π½ π½ππππ π΄π’πππ πΏ. π½πππ’π (πΌππΉ) ππ΄, Director of the 1604th CDC, together with Asst. Professor πΆβπππ π‘πππ π΅. πππππππ’π NSTP Director of Basilan State College, and TSg πππππππ‘ π
. πΏππππ π‘ππ πππ‘ππ (πΌππΉ) PA, Chief Clerk of the BSC-ROTC Unit.
The event was attended by Sir Al-Riyami Saggaan, OIC Chief Admin Officer, in behalf of the College President Hja. Haipa Abdurahim-Salain, EdD, and MAJ Rene T. Ibao (INF) PA, Executive Officer of the 6th SF Battalion.
Commemorating the Araw ng Kagitingan is important as it honors the courage, sacrifices, and heroism of Filipino soldiers and civilians who fought during World War II. It reminds us of the true cost of freedom and the enduring spirit of resilience that defines our nation.
As ROTC students, our participation in this event is vital because it instills in us a deep sense of patriotism, discipline, and gratitude. It strengthens our commitment to serve the country and prepares us to become responsible citizens and future leaders who will continue to defend the freedoms we enjoy today.

The Basilan State College-Reserve Officersβ Training Corps successfully conducted its regular Sunday formation on 29 March 2026 at the BSC Talisay Ground, Isabela City, Basilan.
The activity was under the supervision of SSg Richard M Tanudtanud (Inf) PA, Training NCO of Basilan State College and other members of the ROTC training staff.
At 0730H, the activity started with a grooming inspection focusing on nails, hair, and overall appearance, then proceeded with basic marching drills.
In addition to other activities, the unit continued to focus on basic marching drills. Building on the progress from the previous ROTC session, todayβs formation further strengthened the cadetsβ discipline, precision, and coordination in marching.

The activity was participated by the organic personnel of 1604CDC together with ROTC Cadets from BSC-ROTC Unit and Reservist Personnel from 1604RRIBn led by π΄π¨π± π±π¨π΄π¬πΊ π¨πΌπ«π°π¬ π³ π±π¨πΈπΌπ¬ (INF) PA, Director of the 1604th CDC, in-colaboration with the 3ππ

The Basilan State College Reserve Officersβ Training Corps Unit (BSC-ROTCU) successfully conducted its regular Sunday formation on 22 March 2026 at the BSC Gymnasium, Isabela City, Basilan.
The activity was facilitated by SSg Richard M Tanudtanud (Inf) PA, Training NCO of BSC-ROTC unit, with the supervision of MAJ JAMES AUDIE L JAQUE (INF) PA, Director, 1604CDC.
After a month-long halt in regular formations from February 22 to March 15 due to the observance of Ramadan, the unit proudly resumed its routine Sunday activities. The entire session focused on executing basic marching drills and standard formation procedures, allowing cadets to sharpen their discipline, precision, and teamwork skills under the guidance of their supervising personnel.
This resumption marks a strong return to regular training for BSC-ROTCU, reinforcing the cadets' commitment to readiness, leadership, and service as they continue their ROTC journey.

The Basilan State College Reserve Officersβ Training Corps Unit (BSC-ROTCU) successfully participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on 12 March 2026, at 3:30 PM, held at the Headquarters of the 1604th Community Defense Center, Palar Compound, Barangay Tabuk, Isabela City, Basilan.
The activity was facilitated by the organic personnel of 1604CDC together with the ROTC cadets from BSC-ROTCU led by TSg Vincent R Lacastesantos (Inf) PA, Chief Clerk, 1604CDC and BSC-ROTCU with the supervision of MAJ JAMES AUDIE L JAQUE (INF) PA, Director of the1604th Community Defense Center (CDC).
At exactly 3:30 PM, the sirens sounded, signaling the start of the drill. Participants immediately performed the βduck, cover, and holdβ procedure before proceeding to the designated safe areas.
The BSC-ROTCU's active participation highlights its strong emphasis on discipline, readiness, and community safety, ensuring cadets and staff are well-equipped to lead and protect others in emergencies.

IN PHOTOS β The Basilan State College Reserve Officersβ Training Corps Unit (BSC-ROTCU) proudly participated in the nationwide simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony and officially kicked off the month-long celebration of National ROTC Month with the theme: βROTC: Shaping Disciplined Patriots β Stewards of Nation-Building and Pillars of National Securityβ on 07 March 2026, at the Headquarters of the 1604th Community Defense Center, Palar Compound, Barangay Tabuk, Isabela City, Basilan.
The ceremony was spearheaded by MAJ James Audie L. Jaque (INF) PA, Director of the 1604th CDC, together with Asst Professor Christian B Padrique, NSTP Director of Basilan State College and ROTC training staff of the BSC-ROTC Unit led by TSg Vincent R Lacastesantos (Inf) PA, Chief Clerk, 1604CDC & BSC.
The program started promptly at 07:30, followed by a RESCOM-WIDE bloodletting activity, in collaboration with the 129th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Army.
National ROTC Month honors the programβs role in building disciplined, patriotic leaders who serve as pillars of national security and nation-building. Todayβs flag raising and bloodletting drive underscore BSC-ROTCUβs commitment to these valuesβpreparing cadets for service, community welfare, and a stronger Philippines.

LOOK β The Basilan State College - Reserve Officersβ Training Corps Unit (BSC-ROTCU) successfully conducted its deliberation board for the ROTC Summer Camp Training on 01 March 2026 at the Headquarters of 1604th Community Defense Center, Palar Compound, Barangay Tabuk, Isabela City, Basilan.
The deliberation board was spearheaded by MAJ JAMES AUDIE L JAQUE (INF) PA, Director of the 1604th Community Defense Center (CDC), along with TSg Vincent R Lacastesantos (Inf) PA, Chief Clerk of the 1604CDC/BSC-ROTCU and member of the ROTC training staff of BSC-ROTC unit.
Deliberations are wrapped after the insightful board interview, where the purpose is to carefully evaluate each candidate's passion, skills, and fit to become outstanding leaders for this year's Summer Camp Training.
