Today, we stand in solidarity with individuals living with schizophrenia and continue the call to break the stigma surrounding mental health conditions.

This 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, MindShift Initiative encourages everyone to choose𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒋𝒖𝒅𝒈𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒆𝒂𝒓, and 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. Schizophrenia is not a personality flaw nor something to be feared—it is a mental health condition that deserves proper support, empathy, and access to care.

Mental health support should never feel distant, confusing, or out of reach.

Mindshift Initiative is currently gathering and identifying mental health and psychosocial support services, organizations, and community resources across Western Visayas through Mindshift Connect, a centralized initiative that aims to help individuals and communities access reliable and updated support systems within the region.

Today, the MindShift Initiative had the honor of joining the "𝐘𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐄𝐝'𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫" held at 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥.

We are grateful to be part of this collaborative effort to bridge the gaps in mental health care within our educational institutions. Together, we can continue to create safe spaces and build resilient communities for our learners.

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 | 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭

The MindShift Initiative conducted an 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 training for the dedicated youth volunteers of the 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞: 𝐂𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝟏.

This vital training session was carefully designed to provide our volunteers with the foundational knowledge and ethical guidelines required for their upcoming field deployments and community immersions. By deeply understanding the intersections of ethical boundaries and mental wellness, our Cohort 1 volunteers are now equipped to 𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒚, 𝒆𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒚.

Ensuring that our volunteers operate within safe, structured, and non-clinical boundaries is central to our advocacy. We are incredibly proud of the commitment shown by Cohort 1 to continuous learning as they prepare to make a sustainable, positive impact on the ground.

On May 4, 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 to share our vision, current efforts, and upcoming plans for the year. The exchange of ideas highlighted a shared 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒍𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚.

Once again, we are truly grateful for the time and insight they have given us. Moments like these continue to inspire our drive to serve and make a difference.

We had the honor of meeting with the 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐧 𝐅. 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐪𝐮𝐞 to introduce our mission and share our upcoming projects for the year. It was encouraging to learn that we share the same goal of promoting mental wellness for the people of Iloilo.

Last Sunday, the MindShift Initiative hosted a highly productive series of events dedicated to organizational alignment, community building, and volunteer development.

During the morning session, the organization convened with our esteemed alumni and active members. This assembly provided a vital platform to review recent milestones, and reaffirm our shared commitment to our core mental health advocacy.

In the afternoon, Mindshift Initiative facilitated the 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞: 𝐂𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝟏. We formally welcomed our newly onboarded youth volunteers and equipped them with the necessary operational guidelines, ensuring they are prepared to assist our initiatives in safe, structured, and non-clinical capacities.
