CEC Engineering Department

🎤 MEET ONE OF OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Dr. Nurzal Efiyani Binti Ghazali
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia

Director of the UTM Centre for Engineering Education and President of the Society for Engineering Education Malaysia.

Her work sits at the intersection of engineering and how we teach it—the Internet of Things, mobility management, and service-learning—and she consults across Southeast Asia and Japan on outcome-based education, project-based learning, and AI for educators.

Climate resilience is not built only in laboratories and field sites. It is built in classrooms, by the engineers we are training right now for conditions no one has designed for yet. That is the conversation Dr. Ghazali brings to ICCR 2026.

🗓 Keynote Address — September 29, 2026 | 1:00 PM
📍 PARSU Auditorium, Goa, Camarines Sur | Onsite & Online

🌋 MEET ONE OF OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Dr. Christopher G. Newhall
World-renowned Volcano Scientist

Dr. Newhall's work is about forecasting eruptions and helping people live safely alongside volcanoes. He has followed the question of volcano and climate interactions for close to 50 years, working with the pioneers of the field.

He continues volcano research part-time and, with his wife Glenda, is developing a small botanical garden and nature center in Albay. He has also advised thesis projects from Partido State and universities around the world, which makes this keynote something closer to a homecoming than a visit.

For a region that lives in the shadow of Mt. Isarog and Mayon, few conversations matter more than hazard science and how communities build their lives around it.

🗓 Keynote Address, September 30, 2026 at 8:30 AM
📍 PARSU Auditorium, Goa, Camarines Sur | Onsite & Online

Dr. Newhall will be joining us face to face.

Welcome to the College of Engineering and Computational Sciences!💙

This Su***de Prevention Month, Partido State University (ParSU) joins the call to remind everyone that checking in, listening without judgment, and reaching out can make a difference.

For some, it can mean offering support or simply being present when someone needs it. Sometimes, it all begins with a simple "Kumusta ka?" because in a community that looks out for one another, even difficult conversations matter.

Be kind. Be present. Take a moment to check in on someone today.
