Classes and office transactions will resume on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰.

The BSAB Faculty Members from the Institute of Business Education and Governance (IBEG) recently conducted a department meeting as the 1st semester AY 2024-2025 get one's feet wet.

The discussion was focused on evaluating the status of the BSAB program as it gears towards level IV AACCUP accreditation this semester. Planning session was done also ensuring that the recommendation mandatory for AACCUP key areas are complied. Further, academic deliverables for the semester are given emphasis as well in order to maintain the quality of education in the program.

The said meeting was able to formally welcome also the newly hired faculty members in the department. It was attended by BSAB faculty members at the IBEG office on August 21,2024.

Practicum Instructors of the Agribusiness Department conducted Student Interns Monitoring on August 3 and 4, 2023 to their industry partners in Davao del Sur.

The purpose of the said monitoring were to know the condition of interns in their workplace, to monitor their performance, and to strengthen partnership with industry partners.

Present in the monitoring were Mr. Lorenzo Jr. T. Gulle, IBEG Internship Coordinator; Mr. Wilmar P. Labanon, Lic. Agr., LPT and Mr. Aljun S. Nilo, Lic. Agr., MBA, Practicum Instructors.

The DSSC - Office of the Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) facilitated the Institute of Business Education and Governance's students-parents/guardians orientation on August 1, 2023 at DSSC Mini-Gymnasium.

New batch of freshmen were presented general overview of the academic programs in the institute (Bachelor of Public Administration, Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness major in Enterprise Management, and Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information Systems). Institute key officials and faculty members were also introduced.

Programs Heads Prof. Roel S. Apas, MPA (BPA); Prof. Jenevieve D. Gica, MBA (BSAB), and Prof. Fritzie Q. Jumowad, CPA (BSAIS) provided the academic policies of each program. Guest Speaker, Annalou L. Tampipi, MGC, RGC discussed the roles of parents/guardians in the academic endeavors of students.

Academic Support Services Heads also came to introduce themselves and gave short background of the assistance and services that they offer. Dr. Jeric Anthony for OSAS; Shenna Enfesta for the Guidance Office; Dulce Marie Martinez for the Scholarship Office; Rosedilla Janson for Library Services; Salome Garciano for the Registrar’s Office; Assi. Prof. Cecil Lofranco for the Gender and Development Office Services; Engr. Teressa Lumansoc, Prefect of Discipline, and Assi. Prof. Kris Kristofferson Tan for Laboratory Services.

The Agribusiness Department of the Institute of Business Education and Governance conducted an Instructional Material Review on May 24, 2023, at IBEG Office.

Present in the meeting were Dr. Cherry Ann P. Roxas, Director for Instruction; Dr. Zandro P, Ibanez, IBEG Dean; Michelle A. Alcebar, Institute Research Coordinator; Jenevieve D. Gica, MBA, Agribusiness Chairperson, and Faculty members of the Agribusiness Department.

The purpose of the said meeting was to support writers/authors in the department to develop, enhanced, and resolve challenges in making Instructional Materials (IMs).

The Institute of Business Education and Governance (IBEG) hosted the Flag Raising Ceremony on May 22, 2023, at DSSC Mini-Gymnasium.

Faithfulness was the timely message presented in the convocation as 10 newly-hired Administrative Personnel and 2 Faculty Members took oath under the leadership of President Augie E. Fuentes, Ph.D.

The Institute of Business Education and Governance (IBEG) of the Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) conducted a Training on Product Design, Labeling and IEC Making held on May 20,2023 at DSSC.

This Training for Agribusiness Students enrolled in Product Development Subject was a crucial-significant in enhancing their knowledge and skills providing them with a comprehensive understanding on design and labeling concepts, enabling them to develop critical thinking and skills in IEC making, learning from experts and peers, and applying their knowledge in a practical setting.

With this, DSSC IBEG would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the Resource Speaker, Prof. King Ressurrects Nuevo for extending his knowledge and expertise to the participants of the activity.

Present in the event were Dr. Cherry Ann P. Roxas, Director for Instruction, Prof. Jan Christian D. Enero and Prof. Wilmar P. Labanon, Product Development Instructors and Ms. Rio Molina.

The student-leaders of the Agribusiness Society (ABS) of the Institute of Business Education and Governance were provided with Leadership Enrichment and Teambuilding Activity on May 6, 2023 at Bay Coronon, Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur.

Present in the enrichment and teambuilding activity were Prof. Michelle A. Alcebar, MBA, ABS Adviser, ABS Officers, and AB Class Mayors.

In the morning, Leadership Training Workshop was presented by Resource Speaker, Prof. Glenn M. Demillo of SPAMAST-Malita. It was then followed by the conduct of teambuilding activities facilitated by the resource speaker.

The purpose of the said activity was to enable the student-leader participants to become more responsible and competent leaders. Moreover, the team-building activities enable them to develop a greater sense of teamwork for the institute.

A student and parent/guardian orientation for Internship Program was conducted for the Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness (BSAB) program today, May 10, 2023 at DSSC Mini-Gymnasium.

Present in the orientation were Dr. Cherry Ann P. Roxas, Director for Instruction; Prof. Michelle A. Alcebar, MBA, College Internship Coordinator; Prof. Jeanevieve D. Gica, MBA, Agribusiness Department Chairperson; Prof. Lorenzo Jr. T. Gulle, IBEG Internship Coordinator; and Prof. Wilmar P. Labanon, LPT, Lic. Agr., and Prof. Aljun S. Nilo, AB Internship Coordinators.

The purpose of the said orientation was to orient the students and their parents on the do's and don't's during the internship program, students' roles and responsibilities in their assigned institutions, and important requirements and schedules.

Selected faculty members from the Agribusiness Department successfully completed the Business Proposal Writeshop on Agri-Enterprises related to Cacao, Coffee, and Coconut on April 29, 2023 (Saturday) at the Brokenshire College - Bahay Alumni in Madapo Hills, Davao City.

This writeshop was facilitated by the Model Cooperative Network. MCN is in to WeLEAD and CoopTECH business innovation programs. These two (2) programs provide women and youth entrepreneurs and enterprising organizations/cooperatives with access to business training and mentorship, business financing, market linkages, and network. This serves as an avenue to further strengthen existing businesses or develop new business ideas into marketable products and services related to cacao, coffee, and coconut.

In the morning, a Business Proposal Writing for Entrepreneurs was introduced by Dr. Randell U. Espina, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture of the Ateneo de Davao University. It was then followed by a workshop. In the afternoon, participants from the academe, cooperatives, and entrepreneurs presented their business idea proposals. Davao del Sur State College participants presented their "The New Life of Coffee Grounds" business ideas - coffee-scented candles, pruned coffee leaves tea, and okra decaf.
