Training Moose the Pitbull requires trust and respect. You have to build a relationship that associates the two to gain good strong leadership. Moose can become a highly reactive dog if the handler shows fear and anxiety which makes him or her a weak leader. Should be assertive and not emotional. Being calm and assertive and with the help of my ambassador dogs Jovi and Myuki, we were able to let Moose trust and respect his environment by not being reactive to many things starting with my dogs. A Reactive dog is most of the time mistaken as an Aggressive Dog. Dogs that are reactive overreact to certain stimuli or situations because of different reasons, could be lack of socialization, insufficient training to learn self-control, a frightening experience, or even Genetics, and fear is commonly the driving force. Moose is more than a year old male Pitbull, who's said to be reactive to people, dogs, cats, thus bringing him to parks or places causes fear and anxiety not just for the dog but for the handler owner as well. But these behavior issues can be controlled by applying the Right Tool and Right Psychology establishing better communication, better relationship with trust, respect and love and good leadership. " When I talk about dogs, I talk about family, dogs inspire us and touch our hearts, bringing us people together as one happy family" This adorable little boy Shivanen is Anitha's grandson who's afraid of dogs, and Adhi my student the Frenchie dog of Anitha is not used to being with kids. The family's very much concern on how would Shivanan and Adhi get along. Situation like this happens many times in family when a new human member comes in and humans are worried seeking approval of acceptance from their family dog. Just like bringing a new member in a pack of dogs where the Alpha or pack leader is the one who decides to accept or reject the membership. However, in our pack of humans or family with a dog, it's always us humans should be the one approving and not the dog. We decide who to introduce to our dogs for them to accept. Of course by proper introduction and calm approach, and with assertive leadership, the dog will understand and respect what you as an Alpha tells him/her to do.
