Narcissists break you in private, then tell everyone you’re broken.

They provoke, dismiss, gaslight, and invalidate until your nervous system is constantly on edge. Then, when you finally react to the pressure they created, they step back and point the finger. See? they say. This is who you really are.

They push you to react, then call you unstable. They know exactly which buttons to press, which wounds to reopen, which fears to activate. Your reaction becomes their proof, even though it was their manipulation that lit the match. They stay calm in public, composed and charming, while you’re left trying to explain a pain that doesn’t show up in neat sentences.

They create chaos, then label you crazy. They rewrite history, deny things they clearly did, and make you question your own memory. Over time, you start doubting yourself more than them—and that’s the goal.

It’s not random.
It’s strategic.

Because if they can convince others that you’re the problem, they never have to take accountability. And if they can convince you of that too, they get to keep control. Healing begins the moment you realize you weren’t “too much,” “too sensitive,” or “unstable.” You were responding normally to an abnormal situation—and that truth matters.
