MIIS Scouts Lead Colors at MIIS Floral Offering and Join Grand Parade at Buhayani Festival 2026 for Rizal’s 165th Birth Anniversary

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — Demonstrating the core scouting values of civic duty and patriotism, the young men and women of MIIS Circle 008 and MIIS Outfit 224 took center stage during the city-wide celebration of the 165th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal on June 19, 2026.The scouts actively participated in both localized school rites and the broader, vibrant city festivities, making a memorable mark on this year's commemorative milestones.

Morning Devotion: Honor Guard and Floral Offerings. The day began early at Majada In Integrated School, where a solemn program was organized to pay homage to the country’s premier national hero. The MIIS scouts took on a pivotal role during the morning rites, executing their duties with precision: Color Detail: Representatives from Outfit 224 stood as the official guard of honor, handling the flag ceremonies with utmost discipline.

Floral Offering: Serving as the designated flower offerers, the scouts laid wreaths at the school's tribute site, symbolizing the youth's enduring gratitude for Rizal's immense sacrifices.

Afternoon Revelry: The Buhayani 2026 Grand Parade transitioning from solemn remembrance to festive tribute, the afternoon saw the MIIS scouts marching through the main streets of Calamba City. They joined the highly anticipated Buhayani Grand Parade, a staple event of Calamba's multi-awarded Buhayani Festival (derived from the words "buhay" and "bayani", meaning "A Hero's Life" or "Living Heroes"). The festival brings together local schools, civic organizations, and government agencies to showcase a grand, artistic tribute to Rizal. Marching in uniform under the afternoon sun, MIIS Circle 008 and MIIS Outfit 224 stood tall as examples of the "living heroes" the festival aims to inspire. Their energetic presence in the parade perfectly embodied Rizal's timeless adage that the youth are indeed the fair hope of the fatherland.

MIIS Rover Circle 008 and MIIS Outfit 224 Join 128th Philippine Independence Day Celebration

Calamba City, Laguna - June 12, 2026– Members of MIIS Rover Circle 008 and MIIS Outfit 224 proudly participated in the celebration of the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence held at SM City Calamba on June 12, 2026. The event brought together Scouts, youth leaders, government representatives, and members of the community in a meaningful commemoration of the country's freedom and enduring spirit of patriotism.

Joining the celebration were select college students who continue to demonstrate their commitment to nationalistic and civic-oriented activities despite their academic responsibilities. Their active participation reflected the vital role of the youth in preserving the values of patriotism, volunteerism, and responsible citizenship.

The delegation from MIIS Rover Circle 008 and MIIS Outfit 224 was accompanied by Scout leaders Jan Michael de Asis, Ma. Teresa Inigo and Jackelyn Pelayo, whose guidance and dedication have consistently inspired young Scouts to engage in community service and nation-building initiatives.

Throughout the program, participants took part in ceremonial activities that honored the sacrifices and heroism of the country's forefathers while reaffirming their commitment to uphold the ideals of freedom, unity, and love of country. The event also served as an opportunity for Scouts and youth volunteers to strengthen camaraderie and foster a deeper appreciation of Philippine history and culture.

The participation of MIIS Rover Circle 008 and MIIS Outfit 224 in this significant national celebration underscores their continued dedication to developing responsible citizens and future leaders who embody the principles of the Scouting movement and the spirit of Filipino nationalism.

As the nation commemorated its 128 years of independence, the Scouts and student volunteers stood united in celebrating the country's rich heritage while renewing their pledge to contribute positively to their communities and to the continued progress of the Philippines.

Flores de Mayo / Grand Alay 2026 🌸🙏

On May 30, 2026, the Rover Scouts, Senior Scouts, and Scout Leader Jackelyn Pelayo rendered service during the Flores de Mayo / Grand Alay Procession, which took place from Asia 1 to St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Canlubang.on May 30, 2026.

The scouts were deployed along the procession route to help ensure the safety, peace, and orderly flow of the event. Their responsibilities included assisting with crowd control, providing traffic guidance, maintaining order among participants, and helping create a safe environment for everyone attending the celebration.

Throughout the procession, the scouts demonstrated discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility as they carried out their duties. Their presence helped facilitate the smooth movement of participants and contributed to the peaceful and meaningful conduct of this important religious event.

This service reflects the true spirit of Scouting—serving others, supporting the community, and being ready to help whenever called upon. Through their dedication and commitment, the Rover Scouts, Senior Scouts, and Adult Leader Pelayo played a vital role in ensuring the success of this year's Flores de Mayo celebration.
