𝗦𝗧𝗜 𝗢𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘀-𝗖𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮'𝘀 '𝗠𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸' 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗭𝗢𝗡 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Student-made psychological horror short film 'Maverick', produced by students from STI Ortigas-Cainta, has been shortlisted for the Cinema Primera CALABARZON Regional Film Festival 2026—a milestone moment for its passionate team of indie student filmmakers.

Running from April 6 to 11, 2026, Cinema Primera brings together 18 universities and schools from across five provinces—Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon—under one regional celebration of student cinema. The festival is hosted by the Multimedia Arts Department of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA – Molino Campus, with media partners When In Manila and SINEGANG.ph, and held at its official venue partner, SOMO A Vista Mall.

This year's lineup features a formidable roster of competing institutions, including De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, Mapúa University – Makati, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna, Lyceum of the Philippines University – Cavite, National University – Dasmariñas, and several other distinguished schools from across the region.

'Maverick', a fully independent production made without studio backing, represents STI Ortigas-Cainta in this year's competition.

Directed by Jonah Rivera, the film was crafted entirely out of passion and dedication by Silver Screen—previously guided and handled by Professor Michael Lazado, whose mentorship played a foundational role in shaping the production.

Being shortlisted alongside films from some of the most prestigious academic institutions in CALABARZON is a testament to what student filmmakers can achieve when driven by genuine love for the craft—and the right guidance behind them.

Aside from season of love, but also a celebration of ART for LOVE YEAR 2, LIKHA is inviting you to showcase what your heart screams through your creative work! 🎨💞
We are implementing a Mini Art Museum Booth on February 13, 2026 (Tomorrow) located at chess area, bldg. C.

Mechanics to join:

1. This booth is open to all STI Ortigas-Cainta tertiary students.
2. Bring ONE (1) any of your artworks that your heart says the most: it can be a painting, drawing/sketch, poetry, or even photograph.
3. It can be new or old/unpublished artworks.
4. Applicable canvas size should be from A6 to A4 only. Make sure to submit it as hard/original copy,
