Wangari Maathai emphasizes that planting trees has benefits beyond those for the environment. Trees sustain ecological balance—absorbing CO2, producing oxygen, and supporting wildlife. She also highlights that trees symbolize peace and hope, encouraging communities to invest in sustainability and resilience. Nurturing trees unites people, instills responsibility, and represents growth and a better future for children, reflecting the link between ecological health and societal well-being.

CONAPAC’s Fruit Tree Initiative, part of our Sustainable Development Program, has planted 54,300 trees in partner communities since 2018, providing nutritious fruit and an opportunity for beneficiaries to earn income. You can be part of this program, too, by designating your donation to our tree initiative. Or, you can join us for our tree planting from November 29 to December 5!
