If you’re driving to Milford Sound, it’s worth remembering that the experience doesn’t begin when you reach the Sound.

The road from Te Anau is packed with changing landscapes, stunning viewpoints and stories waiting to be discovered.

Planning a Milford trip? Give yourself time to enjoy the road as well as the destination.

Our tip? Stay the night in Te Anau, enjoy some of the local hospitality, then get on the road early the next morning. You’ll have more time to take in the journey along the way.

How many of these spots can you find on one of our self-guided audio tours? Especially Gold Rush Grandeur, Port Chalmers: A Walk through Otago's Historic Seaport and Otago Peninsula's Hidden Gems? VoiceMap

Well, this has escalated...

‘East of Eden’, filmed partly on the streets of Dunedin, is Netflix's number one show globally this week, clocking up 6.5 million views. Quite a few eyes on Dunedin and our neighbours Waitaki NZ and Central Otago NZ.

Here’s an offical image from the show featuring Florence Pugh standing on Lower Stuart Street with the stunning Dunedin Law Courts building reflecting in the window.
