Knock Off produced a brilliant front-running performance to take out the Group 3 Hunterville Vet Club Metric Mile at Trentham.

With Leah Hemi in the saddle, the Wanganui galloper took control and simply kept going, holding off Dubai’s Potiki and Hi Yo Sass Bomb to claim a well-deserved stakes victory.

There’s something pretty special about winning a feature race down the Trentham straight.

Congratulations to Knock Off’s connections and everyone involved in a fantastic win.

A huge congratulations to Hannah Wilson, who has been crowned the 2026 Race Images Amateur Rider Series Champion!

We particularly love that Hannah’s journey includes a special Trentham milestone, riding her first winner aboard Four Square Pete at Trentham in July.

From celebrating that first win at Trentham to taking out the national series, what a fantastic achievement.

A few familiar names among New Zealand racing’s best 🏆

Last night’s New Zealand Thoroughbred Horse of the Year Awards celebrated the standout horses and people of the 2025–26 season, and we were pleased to see plenty of winners with a connection to Trentham.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐫 – 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞
First Five provided one of the highlights of our summer, taking out the Group 1 TAB Telegraph at Trentham in January for trainer David Greene and jockey Wiremu Pinn.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐰𝐨-𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐎𝐥𝐝 – 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐨𝐯𝐚
The unbeaten filly was an impressive winner of the Group 2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes at Trentham in December, winning by 4½ lengths. That victory also brought together two more of last night’s winners, with 𝐉𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠 𝐆𝐫𝐲𝐥𝐥𝐬 in the saddle and 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 preparing her.

𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 – 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥
A brilliant season for Amber, who rode 80 winners on her way to taking out the National Apprentice Jockeys’ Premiership. Among those wins was success here at Trentham aboard Our Sniper in December.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫 – 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐤𝐨
While we didn’t see Jesko at Trentham this season, he certainly made his mark here the season prior, completing the Trentham jumping double with victories in both the Manawatū Steeplechase and Wellington Steeplechase in June 2025.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and connections. It’s great to look back and see just how many of New Zealand racing’s best have been through the Trentham gates.
