Happy In Hooves

Katie, Simba along with the extended fur family attended the Fairlie Show yesterday. We also done a small display for the Otago Cavy Club. Thank you to Jess Maxwell for the loan of your beautiful bunny Dexter. Thank you also to Brooke for your help on Saturday setting up. It was great to see so many people out enjoying the show even if the weather was unfavorable at times. Thank you to Charlotte who helped with the guinea pigs promoting them to people. Also to the family of kids who offered to help at the end packing up...I am sure you enjoyed the time with the ponies while I loaded the float and car. Fantastic job by all the committee and volunteers who make this show amazing!

Simba was part of the fun at a birthday celebration and it was great to see so many kids out enjoying some sunshine and birthday activities. Thank you to Anell for asking us to be part of the birthday.

Katie, Simba and Ruby all had a trip to the team at Canterbury equine for their routine dentals. They all got a ✅️ and will visit again in 6 months time along with Willow who only has to visit annually 😃

Katie and Simba along with some of the extended fur family were part of the Oamaru Veterinary Centre - By The Big Blue Cross pet tent at the North Otago A&P show yesterday. A lovely fine day saw lots of people through the gates to enjoy a wonderful day out. Big thank you to Robin, Jo and the staff there on the day. Great to see so many enjoying the animals up close.

Katie and Simba have been out and about the last two weekends adding some sparkle to birthday celebrations. Thank you to Brooke for all your help at these events. It is much appreciated!

Simba had a busy day yesterday assisting with delivery of gifts at Strathallan and spreading some Christmas sparkle with Peanut the Guinea Pig at the Hospice. Wonderful to see so many embrace the festive spirit and enjoy the magic of fur therapy.

We may have arrived a bit later than planned but Katie was still able to provide cart rides to very excited and enthusiastic kids...both young and a bit older😉
A massive thank you to Bailey and her husband for your patience and work with the necessary tools to ensure we got back home. It was truly appreciated!

Great day at the Southern A&P show in Waimate yesterday. We helped out with supplying Katie, Simba, Patchy and a few guinea pigs in the Pet Shed with the team from Waimate Big Blue Cross Vet Centre. Awesome to see so many both young and old enjoying animals up close. Always a pleasure to be part of such a well run show. Congratulations to all those who took part exhibiting. Very big thank you to Brooke for all her help in what was a very long day, it was very much appreciated!

I could not be more proud of these two today. While Simba is no stranger to going to events his handler was having her first experience of what showing is like. Making the experience a fun and learning opportunity was perfectly executed by the Oceanview Miniature Horse Club who put on this wonderful show. It was great to see the different Miniatures out there doing their thing along with meeting everyone. Well done to Brooke and Simba on such a great day.

Today also marked the end of an era for Katie. At the grand age of 21 she gave her last saddle rides for Happy In Hooves. While she has been retired from saddle rides she will still be available for cart rides and pat/brush. Thank you to Katie for your many years of saddle rides which have brought delight to so many. 🥰🤩🦄

Katie and Simba were part of a 6th Birthday celebration today. A beautiful sunny day made for an enjoyable afternoon with the kids having cart and saddle rides then finishing off with some brushing. Thank you to Hayley for inviting us to be a part of Ada's special day.
