A huge shoutout to our boys and girls basketball teams who represented our school with pride at the WIMS Basketball tournament at Rototuna High last Tuesday! Both teams played with unbelievable intensity and top-notch skill throughout the day. Our girls team showed off some superb defence, battling through pool play with 1 win and 2 losses before heading into a thrilling 5th/6th playoff game—holding a scoreless 0–0 tie right up until the final minute before narrowly going down 2–0 at the buzzer. Meanwhile, our boys team left everything on the court across 5 high-octane games, securing 2 awesome wins and 3 close losses. We are so proud of the grit, determination, and sportsmanship shown by all our players. Kei runga noa atu koutou.

A big congratulations to our Te Awamutu Intermediate Drumline, who had a very successful day performing at the 2026 Waikato Regional Drum Competition, held at Matamata Intermediate School. Our drumline was awarded first place overall, the first time TAI has won this event since its inception in 2009. Well done to all students involved in this achievement. Your hard work has paid off.

A special mention goes to Max Gregson, who was also awarded 1st equal in the 12 Year Old Drum Solo category out of eight competitors. Over 60 students from across the Waikato were involved in the event this year.
