Turmoil traces a journey across seven planes of existence — moments where memory, activism, ancestry, and environment collide. Through layered works, I explore the restless movement between chaos and clarity, disconnection and belonging.

Using acrylic, photography, hand-drawn typography, and digital textures, I build portals that act for the photographs of yesterday, the digital screens of today, and the unseen threads that connect us across generations.

Each pane invites reflection across dimensions — from protest marches under urban skies to the quiet strength of native forest. Light and shadow crack open thresholds between time and place, moving viewers into wairua (spirit) and whenua (land).

At the heart of Turmoil is a call towards the future — where we must unite to protect whenua (land), hau (air), wai (water), and hold fast to the central life force, ra (the sun). a lens, seeing light where there is dark, a spark, a glow.
