Living Edge Timber Raglan

Elegans!.. J*panese cedar slabs available for custom builds.
3Long .6+Wide 55mmThick. Cryptomeria J*ponica (Elegans) nearly ready for kitchen Island/ bench, bar leaners or dining tables.
A friend of mine Bill planted this tree some 35 years ago but it had blown over, won't be wasted.

J*panese Cedar. (A false cedar as is not a true cedrus which is a lot denser) 3.3m long .6-.65 wide .055(55mm) thick slabs ×7or8 available for custom made kitchen or bar leaners note it will need at least a seal coat of epoxy to give it any degree of protection but ideally 2 or more millimeters as is a soft timber similar in density to cedar cladding (Western Red cedar) also not a true Cedrus and nearly identical in density as Redwood so on the soft side. This species of J*p ced is similar to the more common hedge row variety but significantly more beautiful as it typically leans over and twists is it grows which can leave it some what difficult to stabilize and keep straight in use with out the edition of steel reinforcement and tension relief cuts but with all that said the compression grain creating waves and iridescent grain that shimmers as light bounces through the flecks of timber make it all the worth while for the extra expense. It's in my top 5 timbers and somtimes no1. So 21months dry ready to finish no near bone dry with the dehumidifier and heaters in the hot room then thickness or cnc flatten , sand moisten to pop the grain for photographs of said slabs then its creation time for living edge custom made kitchen and bar tops finished with zero voc food safe epoxy.
