The pros and cons of solar power are no secret. Great sustainable energy production but on a cloudy day, production is drastically reduced.
Carvey Ehren, a student at Mapua University in the Philippines has come up with a brilliant alternative to standard solar panels which rely on sunlight. His solar panel ‘AuREUS’ capture UV rays and so will work even on the cloudiest of days.

Bees are an integral part of our health and the planets health, they are our biggest pollinator. So, with development booming we need to be actively thinking about how we include insects and wildlife in our urban landscapes.
The clever people at UK based Green&Blue have come up with the ‘Bee Brick’, a nesting site for bees which is integrated into the thing your building.
And, as if it couldn’t get much better, the Bee Brick is made using waste aggregate concrete.
