She changed the game nearly 30 years ago, and she’s still doing it.
Ultimate Lady, the world’s first recreational composite wave piercer, continues to prove her worth on the global stage. From pioneering design to landing a Blue Marlin World Cup-winning catch in Tahiti, this 28m icon remains as capable as ever.
Some boats come and go. Others become legends.

The Black Pearl is a 31m long range passagemaker that we designed for a client with extensive experience in large boat ownership, seeking a vessel capable of global exploration.

Our brief focused on creating a robust, trans-Atlantic capable yacht that balanced high-seas autonomy with refined luxury. Constructed with an aluminium hull, she was engineered for efficiency and stability. The hull form was specifically optimized for a passage-making cruise speed of 13 knots, and the integration of zero-speed stabilizers to ensure comfort for those on board.

Powered by twin CAT C18 590 hp engines with fuel tanks with a 27,000-litre capacity, Black Pearl achieves a range of over 2,200 nautical miles. The internal layout emphasizes privacy and functional flow, featuring independent access for the owner, guests, and crew. The owner’s suite includes a walk-in wardrobe and a spacious en-suite with a full-size bath positioned to take advantage of outside views through large portlights. Accommodations include three additional double guest cabins—including a VIP suite—and dedicated quarters for a crew of five.

Launched in 2010, the Black Pearl has proven its blue-water credentials through an extensive operational history, including an initial stint in New Zealand followed by a world cruise through the Mediterranean and ending in Australia.

Seawolf is a 14.9 m semi-displacement sportfishing vessel we designed for an experienced game fishing charter client based in Tahiti/ French Polynesia.

The brief was to create a sleek, efficient boat capable of maximizing fishing range while burning significantly less fuel than conventional sportfishers at typical trolling speeds. The client was open to challenging traditional expectations of what a sportfishing boat should be, allowing the design to be fully optimized for the way the vessel would actually operate.

Constructed in composite in New Zealand by Harkin Boatworks, Seawolf measures 14.9 m in length with a 4.4 m beam and a draught of just 0.65m. Powered by a single 500 hp engine and carrying 4,000L of fuel, the vessel cruises comfortably at 12 knots with sprint speed of around 18 knots, with a controllable-pitch propeller to help improve efficiency and control when trolling.

The semi-displacement hull form delivers excellent range and fuel economy at working speeds, making Seawolf ideally suited for long days offshore. Equipped with a tuna tower, specialist sonar, large kill tanks, and frozen stores, the vessel has already logged many miles under her keel and plenty of fish to her credit since delivery.

Able to comfortably sleep 4, and accommodate up to 12 for day trips, she is great for a small group of friends or family to go out overnight in a quiet bay, or get some fishing in during the day.

Developed in conjunction with North Sea Boats, the X-18 Tank Boat takes an old idea and uses modern technology to make it viable.

The design brief focused on providing unrivalled firepower in a compact, agile platform. The X-18 is a well-proven foil-assisted catamaran, capable of 50 knot+ sprint speeds powered by a combination of V12 diesels and waterjets, with a range of over 600 nautical miles at speed.

Equipped with a turret normally seen on a land tank, the vessel operates in a similar role—but in coastal, estuarine, and riverine environments where a tracked or wheeled vehicle simply can’t go. To ensure durability and performance in these demanding zones, the X-18 is built using advanced composites for reduced weight and enhanced impact resistance. Ballistic protection systems complying with STANAG 4569 offer critical protection to the crew, troops, and magazine.

Intended for operation by a crew of four, the catamaran is capable of transporting and beach-landing up to 20 special forces personnel. The waterjets offer both excellent maneuverability and the ability to operate in shallow, debris-laden water. For missions requiring higher personnel capacity, an alternative troop carrier version provides extended seating for up to 60 troops in addition to 6 crew.

The X-18 reflects a mission-driven approach to design, providing a high-performance naval solution tailored specifically for complex littoral operating conditions.
