Propower

Another day, another ceiling space..
Mace has been out with Ben helping with maintenance work at the airport through his Gateway placement.
Maintenance is one of those parts of electrical work that doesn’t always make for the nice photos — but it involves plenty of problem solving, working around existing services and figuring out how everything has been put together in the first place.
Good experience for Mace, and a pretty accurate look at real-world electrical work

Someone has to go under there… 😂
Today, that someone was Travis.
A lot of what electricians do is hidden by the time a job is finished — under floors, above ceilings and behind walls.
Running cables, finding routes, making alterations and doing all the groundwork that eventually becomes the nice tidy power points, lights and switches everyone actually sees.
Not every job is glamorous. Some days you're installing solar in Twizel… some days you're crawling around under a floor getting absolutely filthy.
All part of the job!

Blue Devils on tour ⚽️

Loved getting the updates from the Mosgiel AFC 10th Grade Blue Devils over the weekend, who headed to Rolleston to compete in the South Island Football Tournament.

We were proud to be one of the local businesses helping get these young players there — and with Colin’s son amongst the team, we had a little extra reason to be cheering them on!

Proud to support our people and our local community 💙💛

Not sexy… but pretty essential!
You may have noticed some of the new public toilet facilities appearing around Dunedin. Propower has been working alongside Permaloo to complete the electrical works required to get a number of these new facilities connected, powered up and ready for use.
Reliable public facilities are an important part of our city’s infrastructure, and we’re pleased to have played our part in getting them up and running! ⚡

If you have to spend the day on a roof… Twizel isn’t a bad place to do it 😍 Regan, Isaac and Travis installing the newest solar system.

We’ve had a great working relationship with Manu and the team at Next Level Building & Construction over the years, and we’re pleased to be working with them again on their new show home on Armadale Street, Mosgiel.

Colin and Mitch are currently on site completing the electrical work, and it’s great to see the home taking shape.

Manu is always great to work with and has a really good team around him. We value working with local builders who take pride in what they do, and Next Level is certainly one of them.

Looking forward to seeing the finished result!

⚡ Apprentice Challenge 2026 ⚡

A big day for Isaac, representing Propower at the 2026 Master Electricians Apprentice Challenge!

It’s always great to see our apprentices putting their skills to the test, having a go and getting involved in opportunities like this alongside other young electricians in the industry.

We’re really proud to support the next generation of electricians coming through the trade!!

Proud to be part of the finished product!

Since 2021, our team has worked alongside TGC Homes across a growing number of residential developments throughout Dunedin.

From multi-unit developments and townhouses through to individually designed homes, each project brings something a little different. Across these builds, Propower provides a mix of electrical, air conditioning and solar services, tailored to the requirements of each development.

Behind these beautifully finished spaces is a lot of work that often isn't seen — electrical infrastructure, lighting, heating and cooling, power, appliances, and increasingly renewable energy solutions, all carefully coordinated with the wider construction programme.

These recently completed homes are a great example of what that collaboration looks like.

We're proud of the standard our team continues to deliver, and equally proud to work alongside another local business creating new homes and contributing to Dunedin's growing housing stock.

A big thanks to TGC Homes for sharing these fantastic finished photos with us. It's always pretty satisfying for our team to see the end result of the work they've put in.

The sun making a timely appearance over the Maungatuas while we're busy helping our local chicken farm harness more of its power.

Once complete, this system will help the farm generate and store its own energy, reducing reliance on the grid and making the most of Otago's sunshine.

We're still in the middle of the installation, with plenty more photos to come, but this view was too good not to share!
