We’re so lucky to have Alena’s energy and care on the team. She’s already making such a difference for our patients - the comments say it all!
Meet Alena 👋🏻 she just moved to Upper Hutt from Fiji. She's one of the many migrants coming to work in our healthcare system ❤️
We had a giggle together when she asked me my occupation and at first I wasn't sure what to say 😂 then everyone cracked up when I finally said "I'm the Mayor.."
Welcome to Te Awa Kairangi Ki Uta Alena - we are so lucky to have you.
Hand Rehab is operating in accordance with guidance from the Ministry of Health. As we are not a ‘high risk’ healthcare setting, we do not require staff and patients to wear a face mask.
However, we understand that some staff and patients may wish to wear a face mask and this is fully supported by Hand Rehab. Should you wish your therapist to wear a mask, please ask them to do so and they will happily oblige.
Your therapist is required to perform a risk assessment before every appointment and as a result they may ask you to wear a mask for the appointment. We thank you in advance for your cooperation if this is the case.
We will still observe appropriate hygiene practices to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus.
Should you prefer to be seen in a private room, please let us know in advance of your appointment.
Thank you for your understanding.
Statement from Hand Rehab Regarding COVID-19 wef 13.9.22
Hand Rehab is still operating in accordance with guidance from the Ministry of Health.
At the moment this appears to still require our staff, patients and other visitors to wear a face mask.
We will still observe appropriate hygiene practices to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus.
Should you prefer to be seen in a private room, please let us know in advance of your appointment.
Thank you for your understanding.
During the current COVID-19 outbreak, our Clinics are open for face to face appointments but we are also available for consultation by phone or Zoom for those who need to isolate at home or would just prefer not to be out and about.
All of our clinics now have air purifiers with HEPA filters to provide extra reassurance for patients to attend appointments in person where they are able to do so.
Please call us on 0800 776 500 and select your clinic from the menu.
Thanks for your support and understanding.
Hand Rehab
Hand Rehab Clinics are open for face-to-face appointments during the RED traffic light setting. However, the recommendation is that appointments, where possible are by telehealth. This is where your therapist will contact you by phone or video conference tool eg Zoom. Some appointments clearly need to be in person but if these can be kept to a minimum, this will reduce the risk to both patient and therapist of catching and/or spreading COVID-19. Thanks for your understanding.
Wishing everyone the compliments of the Season.
