Guides shaped and installed in the new bores we put through in the previous video.
The tops of the guides are left long at this stage untill we start setting up the valve spring install heights and valve stems protrusion etc. There is likely to be a fair bit of machining of the spring seat area to get the springs sitting in the head correctly.

4AGE 20 Valve head came in with a sinking valve issue. Valves now replaced with genuine supertech valve set and retainer set. Tidied up the cnc porting job to the shapes I prefer and put suitable chamber modifications in place to assist induction and combustion. Skimmed to volume and nice new Franklin Cams to go in should make this rally head nice and reliable.

Port improvements on Nissan RB 75T cylinder head casting. Guides were not being replaced so only slight modifications were made to the guide and guide boss areas. We don't want to shorten these guides as they are already quite short. Using the factory guide materials means that we want to have as much guide as possible on the stem to support the valve and help remove heat out of the valve and into the head casting.
Machining thicker thrust bearings out of solid phosphor bronze bar s in a rotary table. Manual machining on one of my turret mills. Parted off the blanks in the lathe very carefully and hand finished to correct clearance. Toyota 5K engine now racing hapilly again in New Zealand.

Checking lifts at TDC to adjust cam timing on on an RB in a R34 GTR we are involved with. I cannot wait to see how this thing spools and boosts. Our cam pro plus computer program and cam doctor machine let us measure and specify cams very accurately and make setting cam timing a fair bit faster.

Been a busy day putting new seat inserts into an L28 head along with seat cutting and chamber mods to improve flow and combustion conditions. Fitting custom Manley valves to suit an aggressive fast road engine. Going to be running tripple sidedrafts. Should sound awesome and go just as well.

We've been super busy getting engines back together along with machining parts for proper fitment. We are looking forward to seeing what these two engines can do. The RB30/26 has had some breathing and oil control mods along with full balancing and bearing clearances being set correctly. The 1UZFE has had a full rebuild with new rings, bearings, balancing, porting and polishing and compression increase. That one is going into a marine application and will be set up with a Link ECU.

We've been flat out since lockdown ended. Lots of engines and heads getting worked on. Some of our bigger projects are starting to come together. Will try to keep posting interesting images of things we are doing. We have started to take timelapse videos of processes we do to engines so will also try find the time to edit and post them.
