A massive shoutout to our incredible students who represented our college for the very first time in Round 1 of the New Zealand Physics and Mathematics Competition (NZPMC)! 🇳🇿

Facing off against the top STEM students nationwide, our participants had just one hour to tackle complex NCEA physics and math problems—and their results were absolutely stellar! 🚀

👉 Numbers are incredibly close across the board, meaning it’s still anyone's game. Keep turning up, supporting your classmates, and aiming for that prize!

BRINGING HOME THE MEDALS! 🥈🥉🍳

Huge congratulations to our five incredible Hospitality and Food Science students who represented Howick College at the Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) Chef Competition on May 26!

Competing against top students from across the region, our team wowed the judges with their technical skills, creativity, and calm under pressure—bringing home an impressive three Silver and two Bronze awards!

✨ The Results:

Live Cooking: Blake Lagor and Shaelei Kirby both secured Silver awards for their mouth-watering burger dishes and professionalism under the clock. 🍔

Plated Dessert: Calleigh Hopkins and Dakota Glass took out Silver and Bronze respectively for their beautifully presented, technically challenging fruit flan creations. 🍓🍰

Classic Kiwi Biscuit: Lia Wu and Calleigh showcased awesome baking skills and creativity in this highly competitive category. 🍪

What truly set our team apart was their outstanding teamwork and support for one another—their positive attitude and resilience made us incredibly proud. Many of them are already plotting their menus to go for Gold next year! 🥇

🎤 UNDEFEATED! 🎤 Big congratulations to our Year 10 'Howick 2' debating team—Molly Ryan, Ryan Webber, Bree Clifford, and Luca Van Vuuren—who remain undefeated after Round 3 of the Auckland Schools Junior Open competition!
