SNOW, SADDLES & SUNRISES! 🏔️❄️

Our Year 13 Outdoor Education crew finished their final tramp in style on the Mt Taranaki Pouakai Circuit! Over four days, the team navigated alpine tracks, heavy winds, snowfall, and freezing conditions—rewarded by incredible morning views over the Pouakai Tarns.

Huge respect to these students for their resilience and teamwork in real winter conditions! 🎒 boots, frozen pipes, and all.

The prize-giving for the KBB festival was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral over the weekend.

Our Jazz band earned a silver award, and our Orchestra earned bronze.

In addition, our orchestra earned a special award, "The Peter Goddard Memorial Award". This is a single award for the whole festival, given to "the ensemble whose performance, presentation or behaviour embodies the values that Peter Goddard held" That is, for the sole ensemble in the festival of over 140 groups that combines the highest standards of performance, presentation, behaviour and audience participation.

Daike Matsunaga is receiving the awards on behalf of the orchestra, and Ravneet Kaur is receiving the award on behalf of the jazz band.
