Antivirus software isn't supposed to be exciting. In fact, if you're thinking about your antivirus every day, something has probably gone wrong.

That's one of the reasons we recommend ESET. It quietly gets on with the job of helping protect your devices from modern threats, without constantly demanding your attention, slowing down your computer, or trying to sell you seventeen different premium upgrades.

As an added bonus, when you purchase ESET through 4U Computer Solutions, we can help with renewals, licensing, and support if you ever need a hand.

Take a look at some of the reasons we continue to recommend ESET to our customers below.

Yeah… not anymore 🤦

Short passwords can now be cracked faster than most people realise. The real trick today is length. We're talking passphrases, not “P@ssw0rd!”.

If you wanna try it out, BitWarden's free passphrase generator is a good place to start:

Longer. Random. Much harder to crack.

Storage Emails: What’s real, and what’s not? 🚨

We’re seeing more fake “cloud storage full” emails doing the rounds, and a few of our customers have already reported them. These messages are designed to rush you into clicking links or entering payment details, even though nothing is actually wrong with your account.

Most cloud storage providers won’t threaten suspension out of the blue. If you’re unsure, don’t click the email. Check your storage directly in apps like OneDrive or Google Drive, or contact your provider using known contact details.

When in doubt, pause, check, and ask. Urgency is a scammer’s favourite tool.

Not sure if an email is legit? Give us a call and we’re happy to take a look.

Before the school year kicks off, it’s worth taking a few minutes to make sure devices are updated, accounts are accessible, and files are safely backed up. A quick check now can save a lot of stress later — especially when deadlines hit and patience is low.

If your password is still Password, or the Wi-Fi only works in one room, it might be time for a tidy-up.
