We don’t just do solar!
While we are growing our solar services, our roots are in industrial electrical, automation and control systems, and we still love getting stuck into challenging industrial projects.
This job was a great example.
The customer had an aging PLC system on a milk powder dryer that was obsolete, with non-compliant power supplies and very limited space to work with.
The challenge was to modernise the system, improve reliability and compliance, and fit everything neatly into the existing footprint.
The result? A modern, reliable control system that is easier to maintain, easier to fault-find and ready for many more years of service.

Why 25.5 kWp of solar?

This beautiful Waikato home already had approximately 7 kW of solar, but the homeowners wanted to generate significantly more of their own electricity.
We installed a new 18.48 kWp solar system using 42 × 440 W panels, while retaining the existing system.
That gives the home 25.5 kWp of total solar capacity.
Rather than replacing the existing investment, we integrated it into the new system through the Sigenergy Sigen Gateway.
More solar generation. More energy available for the home. More opportunity to charge the battery and EV from the sun.

Solar is great. Using it when you need it is even better.

That's where battery storage comes in. This stunning Waikato home has an 18.08 kWh Sigenergy battery, allowing excess solar energy generated during the day to be stored and used later.

In the first 10 months, the system recorded:
26.97 MWh solar generated
6.07 MWh battery charged
5.87 MWh battery discharged

What does that mean? More of the home's own renewable energy can be used when the sun isn't shining.

We recently completed this Waikato project for homeowners wanting to reduce their reliance on grid electricity while getting more from their existing solar investment.
The system includes:
18.08 kWh battery storage
25.5 kWp total solar capacity
20 kW three-phase energy controller
25 kW DC EV charger
Whole-house backup

This control system was designed and built by the team at INCON, featuring:

* Full 12VDC system
* IFM PLC with integrated Display
* Calibrated magnetic flow meter for accurate load measurement
* Complete IO-Link architecture for reliable diagnostics and communication
* M12 plug-and-play wiring system for fast installation and easy servicing

The result is a robust, reliable tanker control system with accurate loading, simplified maintenance, and minimal wiring.

We're after a registered electrician to join our team at Incon Automation in Hamilton.

Most of our work is in industrial electrical and automation, with a growing amount of commercial solar, so no two weeks are really the same. We work on water treatment plants, dairy factories, manufacturing sites, pump stations and other interesting projects around New Zealand.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can think for themselves, and gets on well with customers and the rest of the team.
