STL Project Spotlight!
The Pā - The University of Waikato
The Pā is the state-of-the art 6,500sqm main entrance and student hub at the University of Waikato. Completed in 2023, this project marks the largest capital investment in the university history.
Feisst Group provided data and communication, electrical, building automation and fire protection services - delivered by the Structured Technologies, Select Alarms & Feisst Electrical teams.
Structured Technologies provided the copper structured cabling system consisting of Cat6a Commscope cabling, as well as the Fibre Optic Backbone component again utilising Commscope Cabling.
Some stats of the SCS System
We installed 1359 Cat6a Data Outlets across the building terminating in 15 Data/Comms cabinets & AV racks.
61,921m of Commscope Cat6a cable used across the build.
To compliment the highly architectural finish, the team had to innovate with new, often creative, solutions for running cable through exposed areas where there were no ceilings. Creative use of cable trays, conduits and catenaries ensured the concealment of cables.
The project took three years to complete, Structured Technologies are proud to have been a part of such a significant building.

Fergus Bar and Kitchen - Audio Visual System.
Structured Technologies was engaged to design and Install the Audio Visual Control system.
Control 4 was selected as the control system for its simple and easy to use interface.
Episode Amplifiers and Speakers took care of the Audio along with a Yamaha MTX3 DSP taking care of the Input and Output routing.
A Pulse-Eight neo:XSR Video Matrix kit took care of the Video Distribution to the 2x 85" Screens and 120" Projector screen, perfect for watching those nail biting sporting events!
All powered by a Control4 Core 3 controller with 10" wall mounted touch screen.
Simple, Solid and User friendly is an understatement!
Fergus Bar and Kitchen is located on 15 Turakina Rise, Rototuna North.

OS 3 | Control4 OS 3 is absolutely stunning and super intuitive; I just instinctively knew how it all should work. The wallpapers are gorgeous, the weather app is aces, and the way it displays which lights are presently turned on/off is just ridiculously cool.

Lodge Real Estate Head Office
Harwood Street Hamilton Central
Lodge made the move to their new home on Harwood street in late 2023,
They have created a great space for their staff and clients to enjoy.
One of the key parts of this build was the need for an easy to use, world class Auction Room.
STL were tasked with designing and implementing the Audio Visual systems.
We selected a Kramer AV Control system, using an SL240 brain, Kramer DSP-62-AEC dsp for the auctioneer microphone inputs, 10” Kramer table top touch screen interface, 98” Philips D line commercial display and Bosch PA system for the in room experience, We also provided a simple Kramer live-streaming solution to feed live camera and audio into Auctions live software.
This system has gained amazing feedback from Lodge, proving that some of the best solutions are generally the systems that simplify your life, not complicate it and this is a perfect example of that!
